cake anyone?

Hello friends..........shall I save you a piece? It's fruit! and even though it doesn't really show on my terrible photo(sorry) it is very sparkly. It is not the funny shape it looks either...that's down to the camera angle...........and being in a hurry.

So what is your tipple with cake?...wine? sherry? oh and cheese?  YES I know... but here in Yorkshire it is quite an old tradition to have cheese with your fruit cake. Not my taste I have to say even though I am quite partial to a bit of cheese.

OK on to the table ..........1/2 crackers.....NO not me........mmm  not everyone might agree on that one. They are crackers from Paula at Whichcraft and I chopped one end off......using them for place names..... here's mine.....

Two sides are covered in the red paper where I picked out part of the design and added Glamour Dust for sparkle,(lousy photo again) and the other two sides are silver..........go on .....guess the colour scheme of the table.....got it?
The name tags are a Spellbinder die with added glitter...well it is Christmas..........oh yes... and there is something inside...not telling.....just in case any of the partakers might be sneaking an early peek!

As the sun is shining here today I am popping over to the playground again with this one.....used snippets for the tags and sides.

Thank you for taking time out if your busy schedule to stop by and visit me.Your friendship and the lovely comments you leave me is humbling.
SO

I wish each and every one of my wonderful blogging friends, a very HAPPY CHRISTMAS and WONDERFUL NEW YEAR. Be safe and well, and I hope that you enjoy whatever you are doing over this festive season.

See you later
Big hugs...........and love

Mice and Holly

Hi friends!

Well I don't know about you but I am all Christmassed out! I have now drawn a line under everything...apart from the obvious stuff you have to get at the last minute! Yes the MDF baubles that have sat on my desk for a year are still there!  Maybe they will still be there next year too!.... I hope not as in the New Year a clean of the craft room is on the cards, a good tidy up and a cull (well maybe) of some things. I can't believe it will be 2 years soon since I had a sort out and I still have loads of stuff unused since then. Are you the same?

My last Christmas card...different to all the others I have made this year. It is a digi image I won an absolute age ago, I think it is such acute image. I coloured it with copics and added Glamour dust  for sparkle.

and a close up

The holly die is ...you guessed it!....Sue Wilson and the sentiment is a Craftwork Cards I found in my stash and mounted on gold mirri. I kept this card flattish in dimension as it had to go in the post.

There are a lot of snippets on here...paper ribbon trim, holly and mirri and the green backing paper (same as the holly) ..........so a last dash to play with my mates in the Playground this year is on the cards! (sorry about the pun there..I can hear you all groaning).

I do hope you are not all too stressed out this week and will find the time to pop back again for the table favour and cake! I really do appreciate you taking the time when you are so busy, to stop by my humble ramblings and say hello.

I will leave you to get on with your plans......take care, I have ironing with my name on it!..........funny no matter how often I look no-one elses name shows up on that one!

See you again soon

All things Christmas.

Hi Friends.
Here with a quick post today...yes you can just see me flash by in my haste to complete todays tasks!

Another card using Sue Wilson dies and a Sweep poppy stencil this time.

The card is Navy bazzill and I embossed through the stencil with Imagination crafts diamond sparkle paste. The white backing behind the die cut is actually plain white card made sparkly with the same embossing paste and a brayer! thought you cannot see it on the photo. The strips are red back tape (very strong double sided for those that are not familiar) covered in Glamour dust glitter....perfect match.

Right off to get on with icing that cake and the finishing touches to the table favours. Do pop back again soon to see the finished results , and hear me breathing a sigh of relief no doubt.
I know you are all busy too,so do hope you are all on track with your preparations.Give me a wave as you rush past!

Take care friends, keep well and thank you for taking the time to pop by. Please leave me a quick comment if you have the time....then I know you have been!

Must dash...see you soon

Dizzy Dizzy on the Merry go Round!

Hello my friends! how are you all?

Well we are at the end of another week and just 2 weeks from the big event! Aaaagh I hear you all shout.......me too......still whizzing round and round in circles. I think someone put me on a Merry go Round and I can't get off because it won't stop!

OK .....another card based on creative expressions and Sue Wilson dies again....I have to say I love her dies.

I used a Crafters Companion embossing folder for the holly background.... stamped first with the Merry Christmas also Crafters Companion.

The tile is a double layer as the top layer is cut from the white card with the outer edge in place. It's a two piece die.Underneath I did another layer but this time I just embossed with the inner die first and then cut the embossed piece out with the outer die. It was a bit of a juggle to get the pressure right so as to see the outline but not cut into my card at all...even with the rubber mat in place. This was so that I could see where the holly leaves would be and colour them in on the embossed piece, which I did.... with copics and a 'wink of stella clear' on top. ......Then I mounted one on top of the other and then on to my card.
Gems for the berries!  Holly bottom right...... and that's it!

If I did it again I would try maybe grey for the sentiment as I think it is a bit too bold in the black.

Still got a list of chores (note they have progressed from jobs now) in front of me and housework is on it too...sadly neglected of late....best not to wear my specs then I can't see the dust! So by Monday I hope to have them all crossed off the list bar icing the cake. How are your jobs coming along?

Thank you for calling in...I know you are all busy too, I have passed a few of you this last week..... whizzing.... just like me................and then someone put the Merry go Round in the playground! Guess a few of you might be leaping on there with me too. Bags I the horse with the Gold saddle!......please....

Your time and lovely comments are all so much appreciated and I hope you will visit again next week when I will have some more cards to share.

Have a lovely weekend everyone......whatever the weather and wherever you are (try saying that after a few mulled wines).

Yawn yawn...time for bed.....night night

Busy busy, let's get whizzy!

Whizzing by..........oh! just passed myself coming the other way.........Oh Hi there!!....fancy bumping into you..how are you? I do hope you are well and haven't succumbed to any of the bugs that are around. If you have...I wish you well very quickly.....get rid for Christmas!

I can't believe we are half way through another week and it's December. The more organised I am , the more I find to do. It isn't helped by the fact it was my birthday last week.........thank you for those that sent me good wishes..............and it's hubbies tomorrow (only just finished his card, I couldn't buy him one again this year now could I ) so there are those festivities in the middle of Christmas planning. We had a nice day out at that big Garden Centre in Manchester with a nice lunch and hubby is celebrating tomorrow............by going to work! big aahhhhhhhh. I might do him egg and chips for tea as a treat (only joking).

So today it's a Christmas card.I know I haven't blogged more than a couple unlike the rest of you...I have just whizzed round blog land and what a feast for the eyes....where do you all find the time and the inspiration.....such a clever lot you are...........take a bow.

Here we go..........a tweak of a Creative Expression card again but I like the end result very much and it's not often I say that!

It probably speaks for itself, but I used mostly sue Wilson dies............she does design some fabulous ones, a dotty embossing folder and the poinsettia is a Creative Expression stamp on vellum and white heat embossed, then die cut. I cut the snowflakes off the sentiment die to leave me with ...you guessed...just the sentiment!! A touch of Platinum Stickles for a tiny bit of bling and the star.

I had a bit of trouble die cutting the embossed vellum...the embossing chipped off the vellum.......has anyone else experienced that or is it just me? In the end I fussy cut them in order to avoid it.

Just before I go I must tell you that a couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a voucher from Clearly Besotted in the comment draw. How chuffed was I as I love Stephanie's stamps and dies. So I was able to go shopping...yippee and my prize arrived last week near my birthday. The presentation of your package from CB is a present itself...all beautifully wrapped and their Customer Service...second to none. So..........if you haven't seen their stamps pop over and take a look.........hang on to that plastic though , it will be raring to go!..................and thank you Clearly Besotted for a wonderful surprise and treat.  Just need to find some time to play now!!

Don't know if I will have the time to source any challenges this week.....Oh there I go again in the other direction..........meeting myself coming back again......must go and try and catch up!

Take care friends till I bump into you again!

Pretty in Pink

Hi friends!.........well I never made it back last week did I?.....sorry..........I was auditioning for Rudolph!.....no silly not prancing around, couldn't do that to save my life!........in the red nose stakes....aah now you've got it..yes?......sporting a very sore red nose due to  a cold virus that decided I looked such a nice place to be a host. Still full of it(the cold) but feeling better and the nose looks more like its been on a sunbed without the rest of my face now!(it's at the peeling stage)...........sorry you didn't really need to know all that........... hey ho...onward and upward as they say.

So did you all have a good weekend then?..any crafting?......popping round blog land you all seem to have been busy...doesn't ease my guilt when I see you all playing you know.It just really serves to actually remind me how much Christmas stuff I have that is still unused!

I do however have a card to share with you......here it is.............and it's not a Christmas one!

This is a die I bought a while back in a sale and have never used so I decided to air it and cut it on a scrap of pearlescent card from the bit box, then I mounted it on the same card (another piece from the bit box) which I cut with pierced squares...the double ones by sue Wilson (really like them). Then I cut it again from another scrap of white card and cut out the butterflies with a craft knife, inked them with a pearl ink and mounted over the top of the same butterflies in the die.....added the pearls and the sentiment..(.Diesire die) then mounted the whole thing on 3D foam on my base card.

There we have it. My only problem is the red bits you can see...........funny the camera does not pick up the lovely sheen to the card, but picks up the red bits from the die....the die itself is red(can't remember the make.........so next time I must remember to use some waxed paper and hopefully avoid that.

Right I had better prance off to the craft room and see if I can squeeze some inspiration from my soggy mind. I do hope you are all well and not going through the tissues at the same rate as me!
Hubby has a day off tomorrow for my Birthday so we can go out............then he works on his Birthday next week because he has no holiday left...aaaahhhhhh...love him. After the birthdays are over we can think Christmas!

Take care my friends and I may see you in the playground this week with this one  (if I get there). Might blow the cobwebs away!

See you later and thank you so much for calling in and saying hi...it is so very much appreciated...big hugs to you all..........careful don't catch the cold!

Oh nearly forgot to tell you that the washer got fixed, a day later than said...engineer was ill...perhaps he too had the cold?......no he would have had the flu!

Ta-dah!! not one but two!

Hello everyone!
The kettle is on so make yourself comfy and lets have a natter. So how are we all at the end of another week? Good I hope...better than the weather here...it's cold, wet and squally (windy gusts with rain for those that do not know that word). Definitely a stay indoors day...that's why I have to go out later!!
First I must welcome Kim as my latest follower and she makes my numbers to a nice round 30 (just my age...I wish)......Thank you Kim...... I hope you will be a regular caller Kim as time allows.

Here it is then...the long awaited first Christmas card.......taken from a Creative Expression design so once again I take no credit for that though I did change the embossing folder and the colour of the tree.

I used my new double pierced square dies (Sue Wilson) for my mats. The tree is also Sue Wilson and the embellishments are Creative Expressions. A bit of 3D foam for dimension ...not photographed well I am afraid.
OK so that fired a little inspiration and I came up with a twofer (as they seem to call it).

Smaller and flatter and easier to post and very simple too (don't say it). I used the snowfall embossing folder from Taylored Expressions (I think). A good one for batch making this one.

Well I spent the last two weeks with trips to the dentist as I broke a tooth!  I tell you my body is falling apart...and the Body Shop does not seem to sell what I need! Oh! and the washing machine has now decided it's time to play dirty (get it?...oh never mind) and so the repair guy is due Monday. It will have taken a week by then for them to get to it...imagine what will be happening here on Monday! Everything is packing up this year in this household...yes including me....good job hubby keeps going. Mmmmmm that's a thought I wonder if he could put me on a maintenance contract (he probably thinks I already am...maintained by him at a cost)....lol

Well I wish you all a super weekend...........Christmas shopping is done at this end (SMUG or what!)
Take care, keep safe and well....and I truly do appreciate all your lovely warm and supportive comments that you leave for me.Thank You all....it is so good to catch up with friends.
See you next week I hope.

With love

Hi there.....yes it 's me!.... With a card!.... Thank you for popping by it is so much appreciated.
Well I am getting a bit more back into my card making but I have to say that the ideas are very slow to come hence this one is basically a copy of one on a leaflet that I picked up. It uses Sara Davis's signature butterfly collection....very pretty, but I take no credit whatsoever for the design. I do like the end result though. Just very slightly different in the dies I used.

A bit of a dark and miserable day here again today so the photo is not as bright as it should be. All papers and the butterfly and with love dies are from the above mentioned range. The leafy swirl is one of the very first dies I ever bought and I think it is a Marianne die...can't be certain though! Pretty straightforward in its construction. I just love the font on these dies.

Bonfire night is in full swing round here with fires and rockets etc...quite noisy...bet tomorrow will be foggy again!

So how are we all? I hope you are all well. I know you are all crafting like mad and putting me to shame...but watch this space I will be back next week ......with....tadaaaaaa....my first Christmas card.............again not my design, but worth a blog anyway I reckon.

So what are we all up to this weekend?  Hubby has a long weekend ...so ....it's Christmas shopping tomorrow and Monday..............think it will take me a while...plenty of tea breaks!! and rest stops....but it has to be done. Just think how smug I will feel when it is done! It's a bit like card making really isn't it...the shopping...coming up with the idea is the hard bit!
Wherever you are and whatever you do , enjoy it and stay safe. Thanks again for popping by....hope to see you all again soon.

Off the the snippets playground with this as those tiny butterflies and fronds were cut from left over bits in the box......may see some of you there.

@@@@@@@@@

Hi there friends! ....Yes it's me....good to see you all............I am just popping in with a quick make that I did for Son's Birthday last week......and then forgot to photograph!!!! Doh!...silly me. Anyway son has sent me a picture ...here it is......

To be perfectly honest I do not feel that it is one of my best, but as I have nothing else to blog at present....this is it! It speaks for itself. The die is a Marianne die with a few accompanying stamps one of which I used for the @ (glad that symbol is on the PC) sign. Looks like it got a bit damaged in the post too! My mojo is lacking at present unfortunately so I struggled to make this as it seemed such an effort............anyway son says he liked it and at least it arrived for the day this time (unlike the anniversary card).

I have been doing some crafty bits while watching a bit of craft on the telly...a bit of knitting....baby cardigan.....I have reached the sewing up bit which I hate so that is at a halt......and I have also sat and made a few of the pine cones that I did last year and you will see back in the archives of my blog somewhere.
As for the Christmas cards...NO still none done ......but..........Hubby has put all the Christmas crafty things on the bed in the spare room so I do not have to lift heavy boxes etc, so that when the urge strikes (wish it would hurry or it will be next year!) I can get going.......The mind is willing!!

I have been visiting all your lovely blogs and seeing all your wonderful creations....what a talented bunch of friends I have who put me to shame!

Thank you so much for stopping by and continuing  to spur me on with your messages of love.....I am so grateful for every one and glad to say I am tons better now thank you..........still a bit to go till full pelt but I consider that there is always someone out there who is worse off and if that happens to be you today...then I hope life gets better for you quickly.

Right enough waffle and apologies for the not so inspiring post............well done if you are still reading this! Hopefully it will not be 3 weeks again before I post...sigh...I must get card making again!

Till next time...please keep popping by as I shall stop to see your fantastic works of art.
Take care and 'Happy Halloween' to all of you that are into it! (sorry it doesn't really float my boat).
An extra hour in bed this weekend for those in the UK as the clocks go back..........yippee for the hour but I hate the dark nights.

Hugs and love

It turned up!

Hello friends.......long time no see! Just a quick post to say that the missing Aniversary card turned up a week late! better late than never! So here is that card.......and what was all the fuss about I hear you say..lol

The base card is Adorable Scorable and the stitched rectangle I think is Lawn Fawn from a snippet of Bazill cardstock. the rose is cut from pearlescent card from the left over box....it is a Penny Black die and I used a punch for the little heart in the same card.
As plenty of snippets were used I am heading to the playground to say hello.
I still can't join in the frolics sadly,(maybe I can sit on the side lines) but I am heading in the right direction...it just takes time and being a 'doer' I am perhaps a little.....no a lot.... on the impatient side. The craft room requires reaching, lifting, bending etc...all not allowed at present so don't know when I will get round to those Christmas cards....I know....I know..... I should have started last January!!

Hope all is good with all of you.....and if it isn't, then I hope things improve for you. I know there has been some sadness and difficulties out there in blogland.
Take care my friends and I thank each one of you that has left me love and good wishes in the way of comments. It is so much appreciated.Where would I be without my lovely blogging buddies! Mwah....
Sending big hugs

Update

Hi Friends

I must thank those of you who left me good wishes on my last post and thought that you might appreciate an update.......although I know one does not pop by to hear about health issues and much preferring a creation to view.
Unfortunately the surgery was not without some complications making it a bigger job and thus a longer recovery and I am still pretty wiped out........... but........... I am back at home with a wonderful hubby playing nursemaid (bless him) till next week when he goes back to work for a rest!!..lol........... I think it may be a while till I get into the craft room again., but I as my Grandma always said...I am getting a little better every day. I do hope you will bear with me, and I am popping by your blogs intermittently leaving you some love...........your creativity gives me my crafty fix!

Sadly the last card that I made before my NHS trip was for Son and DIL Wedding Anniversary yesterday.........BUT........it hasn't arrived  :(         so I will keep that one up my sleeve and blog it later as I have nothing else and hope that it turns up in the meantime.
It was posted in good time , I could cry that they didn't get it...........good old Royal Mail!

Thank you for stopping by to read this...........see you all again soon I hope.

Expectations!

Hi Friends.

So how was your Bank Holiday last weekend...UK only of course? Wet? well yes I think that goes without saying doesn't it! Hubby and I managed a ride over the North Yorkshire Moors on Sunday..(cloudy but no rain)...all the heather was in full bloom so very pretty with all the purple, shame the sun did not just put in an appearance. We drove home down the coast and stopped at Bridlington for a fish and chip supper and then home .......but captured this beautiful sunset on the way.

OK...onto a card..........

My son and DIL........(.the ones of strawberry Santa fame...see earlier blog post) are expecting their first baby next February...so I sent them a card to celebrate the wonderful news. Yes I am to be a Grandma at last!

It is a Stamping Bella digi image called Baby Shower (I think)......doing a lot of that today...thinking.... which I coloured with copics and cut out with a Spellbinders die (I think).......there I go again! The rest speaks for itself.

Right I must dash as I have rather a busy day today. I will not be around for a little while........well blogging anyway but will still pop in to your blogs to see what you will be doing. I am going tomorrow on a long weekend...........courtesy of that chain of hotels run by the NHS..........and strangely they do not figure on trip advisor!!........lol...........so crafting will be off the calendar for a little while at least. I won't go into details but a surgeon and a knife are involved ...and he won't be cutting out decoupage with his scalpel...well I trust not!

Thank you for stopping by today and for all your lovely comments that you leave me. It is so good to know that you enjoy my ramblings and my cards! I do hope you will come and visit me again on my return...........I'll be getting my crafty fix from all your gorgeous creations in the meantime.

Take care friends and have a wonderful weekend.

Anniversary 2

Hi friends.
Just a quick post with another anniversary card that I thought might be suitable for the Less is More challenge..............love this sketch......

I am never 100% happy with my CAS cards and always think how fantastic other peoples look.......and as for being quick to do....it takes me ages!

The swirl is a Sue Wilson Die cut into the edge of the white card and then overlayed on the pale pink which is Hunkydory Adorable Scoreable. I know in the photo it looks like the pink is on top. I swapped the sentiment to the top and added the champagne glasses......an old stamp from stash but so useful. I coloured them and added diamond glaze for the shine.
A bit of a deviation from the sketch I have to say........but my take.................do you think I will get away with it?

Ok well that's it for now.....yes I am a bit like a bus.......don't appear for ages and then two together! Keeps you on your toes....not to mention me!

Enjoy your day and take care............I really appreciate your visits.

Anniversary

Hello..........is anybody there?.........Oh Hi...I thought you might all of despaired of my tardy blogging and wandered off to better things. I have been peeking in on you to see your creative talents...love what I see...................you are one talented bunch of friends.!

OK.......well I have been crafting...just a bit (knitting, colouring etc)...honest...just not a lot to blog...except this card for an Anniversary.
I caught part of a Create and Craft program the other day and it was Honey Doo crafts. Amanda (the owner and designer) showcased her fancy Flourish ...so....I decided to get mine out (yes I have that stamp) and have a play as it has never seen any ink!

Here goes.........

The background paper is from a Wild Rose Studio paper stack called Silverton Hall. I was lucky to win this in some of Kate's candy (Downright crafty) a while back. Such pretty papers and soft colours, great for weddings and the like. It has specks of glamour dust added but the photo does not show it unfortunately.
I stamped the 'fancy flourish' and the 'rose' (both Honey Doo) and heat embossed with Wow Platinum powder..............then I rediscovered my twinkling H2O's......do remember them? have you some lurking in the back of the cupboard? I decided to paint the flourish and the rose with Irredescent Blue to tone with the paper...............

and there you can see the shimmer in the light.
The sentiment is from my stash and I embossed it with the same Wow powder and used a die from stash (sorry can't remember the make) to cut it out and to layer it up on foam pads for a bit of dimension. So there we have it.

Well it's the weekend again..............don't they come round quickly. Have you anything nice planned? No we are not painting..............thank goodness...........all done, but can't get rid of the smell yet! Nothing planned for us....no doubt hubby will be in the garden if it is nice..............and I could be ...........washing..............I mean crafting. Actually I have some serious sorting to do in the room of stash. All depends if I am in the mood. My mojo has been awol, playing with other peoples in the same boat I think...................hoping for it's return full of new ideas! and bearing a rocket as a gift for me might be a good idea! I need a boost for sure.

Take care my good friends and enjoy your weekend. Thank you for stopping by to see me, I hope you will come back again soon, and if you have left a comment to make me even happier, Mwah....thank you so much, any feedback is much appreciated.
Take care of yourselves till next time.

Painting on Silk

Hi friends......do hope you are having a great weekend. Us?.......we are surrounded by tiny match pots of paint, painting little squares of varying colours all over the walls in the hall...and then deciding that not one is the right colour! Shade cards and pots do not seem to match as their name intends. Perhaps we should just do patchwork!!......Alongside that hubby is painting the smallest room in the house......no silly not the cupboard under the stairs...the downstairs loo...............no problem with colour here as we are keeping it the same!

Crafting....other things on my mind this week so not much crafting done.....in fact none!. I have been in the craft room and moved piles of stuff from A to B to C in the hope that I might find a home for it!.......GOT IT...forget the painting...we'll move to a house that has a bigger craft room.......oh no we won't I hear him shout! It's cheaper to buy every match pot going...he does have a point there!

Enough rambling and on to my attempts at Painting on Silk. You may remember me telling you briefly in an earlier post that while on holiday in Fuerteventura (Canary Islands for those that may not know) I had a go at silk painting.

Here is my attempt.....

I feel it is rather child like in its execution and I wished I had chosen a different design once I had started...........you know the feeling when you go to a restaurant and when the food comes you wish you had ordered what someone else is having! However it is very therapeutic the way the colour just spreads as you touch the silk and is held in place by the gutta outline (the silver bit).
The lovely lady that ran the class is called Sue Brown and if you are on facebook then you can visit her at....painting on silk at the Barcelo hotel.
Her work is exquisite....................and she also makes the most beautiful jewelry too...........here is my purchase...and very reasonably priced.

A wonderful and talented lady, so friendly and helpful and a great teacher giving one a lot of encouragement.I am sure she has started a few people on the road to painting on silk......me? not yet...but never say never....I certainly need the practice.I wonder how I would fair on the beading side of things?

Well the sunshine is struggling here today, after a glorious day yesterday...........it's not been a good summer for the North of England this year and I fear we are running out of time now! I do hope it is better with you...wherever you are and whatever you are doing. Thank you so much for visiting me and I would love you to leave me a comment so I know you have called in....I will visit you in return of course....get the wine chilled!!...or even the kettle on!...whatever takes your fancy.

Take care till next time and keep well. Big hugs to you all...after all without all you lovely people I wouldn't have a reason to blog.
Hugs

2 years old

Good Afternoon everyone......thanks for popping by. Back as promised in my last post with a card that I made for a 2 year old...keen on trucks and diggers and the like!

and the inside

I used papers from my stash and snippets of bazzil cardstock. The number 2 is  Papermania stamp, stamped on the bazzil and then cut out.The sentiments are computer generated, and I cut out bits from the paper to add as embellishments.
The design was base on a card that I saw on Pinterest and adapted to suit my needs....so if yours was the original card...sorry I couldn't seem to source it's origin, but I thank you for the inspiration.

Well another wet and miserable day here in west Yorkshire....summer seems to have disapeared!
Still got some washing waiting until the sun shines......till then I am pleased to say I am up to date with the ironing!.............so able to spend a little me time catching up with blogland.

Hope you have a good weekend whatever you may be up to. Thanks again for stopping by and I love it if you let me know  that you have.

'Mamandyou'

Hello my blogging friends! I'm back!.......from a week in Fuerteventura.......oh it was lovely thank you.....hot.....mid thirties (Celcius) but a lovely breeze.
I have a couple of pics to share with you of a statue on the roadside at Corejelo..(.the place where we stayed). Check this out.....

She is huge...not sure what she is made out of, but kept so clean , not vandalised and hubby said that it reminded him of decopatch. It reminded me of paintings I used to do at school where you squiggled lines and then painted all the spaces different colours....did you do those too?
The idea is you can climb up into her arms........read about her below...

Well how are you all? I hope you are good and if you are in the UK  then like me you will be feeling a bit chilly. 12C when we landed home! 12C I ask you...apparently it is 18C in Siberia! How silly is that. We had to put the fire on last night...and guess what...it kept switching itself off (it is gas)......yes I have decided there are gremlins in this house. Anyway gas engineer on holiday...so...hope it gets a bit warmer!

Crafting wise...well I tried a bit of silk painting at the hotel we stayed at, with a lovely lady who held a weekly class...all for free! I will post another time and show you my efforts.
What have you all been up to then?...I will be round to see, don't worry, in between the washing and ironing!..............which I am struggling to get done due to the weather.Just had another shower (of rain) here , so glad I got the washing in just before. I always take too many clothes on holiday, do you? Could have stayed a month!.............but who wants to wash undies on holiday (I don't own 31 pairs)!  lol

OK friends I will be back later with a card that I made a while back for a friends Grandson who is 2 years old today.Do hope you will pop by again to take a look. I am so looking forward to catching up with you all.

Till then, take care, keep smiling and see you again soon! Thanks for popping by.I would love it if you let me know you have been.

'Get in gear'

Hi my blogging friends. Hope you are all well and enjoying some of the sunny days we are getting here....interspersed with rain of course!

I'm meeting myself coming back today so I can't chat for long but it's lovely to see you all and thanks for stopping by.

It's a male card today...those dreadful male cards! Anyhow I had this idea in my head (not often do I get them)...it didn't quite turn out as I wanted but close enough and I think I am quite pleased with the end result.

Apologies for the bad quality photo...bright sunshine so shouldn't complain!

Ok.... the background is stamped with an old stamp (NBUS) from The Stamp Man (the netting) in sepia ink and then the cogs (another from stash...a bin at Ally Pally) were stamped in Versamark and embossed with a Stampendous fine gold powder..... this is quite a dark gold and sorry it doesn't show up well in the photo.

I cut the tag with my new (hmm fairly new) Dienamic standard stitched die (love it) and then embossed it with the Cuttlebug folder and inked the edges lightly with tea bag distress ink. I used the same distress ink and also old paper on the edges of my background piece.
The cogs are aTim Holtz Sizzix die that I have had for ages.......you see not everything is new...lol. Cut in brown card and then I applied Inka Gold...in gold no less! the tag is mounted on foam for dimension......hard to see in the picture.A bit of thin twine, and the sentiment was stamped with sepia and I used those tiny wooden letters that you buy for 99p and then realise you can't see where you are stamping...but they did the job.

Inside I put....For a very Happy Birthday!

Last weekend I went to Summer Crafting and yes I was tempted and yes I hang my head in shame...I bought some Christmas dies....I know....I know.... I don't need anymore Christmas...but I had hubby with me to carry ...so had to give him something to carry didn't I?  I also got some great £1 bargains...sequins, embossing folders...yes for a pound!!......and a few wooden embellishments...oh and a couple of stamps! I thought I was quite restrained. It was very busy but I also managed a good catch up with my dear friend Marjorie which was really nice. We so like the same things that it usually ends up we buy the same...pity we do not live nearer and then we could share.

The dishwasher by the way is scheduled for Sunday!!  Fingers crossed xx  Had to buy new Marigolds as one pair perished!

Right folks well I must 'get in gear' myself and press on ...lots to do and little time to do it all!   eeeek it's lunch time!
Take care everyone and once again thanks for your company and any comments you might leave me...love them... and you all of course. You really are appreciated.

Have a good rest of the week and weekend.

Jungle in a box!

Hi my blogging buddies! Yes another week gone and guess what...it's raining here!  :(      Summer hasn't lasted long in this neck of the woods!

So moving on......oh sorry I didn't ask how you all are?...very remiss of me...do hope you are fine and dandy and if not hope you soon will be again.

A pop up box card this time round, made for a friend to give to her Grandson as he turns one!

It's pretty self explanatory really I think. The base is from Craftwork Cards and I found an assortment of cartoon style clip-art jungle animals that I printed and fussy cut. The number one is a Papermania stamp, stamped and cut out, then mounted on the yellow bling card. The backing papers used on the box and flaps were from my stash.

Well the past week has been a week of things packing up here...no not the holiday sort of packing...breaking down type. First the dishwasher decided not to wash anymore. I know that's no big deal...we can manage without a dishwasher...but |I do miss it and marigold gloves just don't really suit me!......and why are they always yellow? Anyway new one on order...can't buy anything straight away these days...................so rubber gloves it is till the new dishwasher lands.

Then the grill on the oven decided to start blowing the main fuse in the house electrics.....repeatedly! So no cheese on toast (hard to do in the toaster...messy). Anyway the engineer dutifully called yesterday tea time (when you might want to be using the oven part of said cooker)............and guess what!!!!!!.............it wouldn't do it for him!  So he went away after half an hour having done ...nothing to the grill... and me feeling stupid. Will have to wait and see if it happens again now.

Lastly the painters turned up this morning to paint the render on the front of the house...rained off!!!! Can anyone tell me why window cleaners and outside painters insist on turning up when it is raining?

OK waffled long enough so will let you move on . Thank you so much for taking time to read my ramblings (that's if you did of course) and if you have left me love in the form of a comment...I shall return the favour as it makes my day......you lovely people.

Off the Summer Crafting on Saturday at the Doncaster Racecourse so if you bump in to me, please grab me and say HI! There is absolutely NOTHING  I want to buy or need to buy............BUT I am sure I will be tempted by something Christmassy at least.

See you later..
Till then..
Have a good week and weekend
Hugs

'Friend'

Hello 'Friends'......hope you are all well and enjoying the summer that has arrived here at last in the North of the UK. Today is hot again but thundery showers...and true to from it had one just as I had pegged out the washing! The sun is now shining again but I prefer to chat to all of you than rush to peg it out again...........see.you are honoured....you are all more important than my washing.  lol...... and if you are not in the UK then I hope that the weather is being good to you wherever you live.

My card today is CAS and I was quite pleased with how it turned out.

The flower and sentiment stamp are both from the same Clearly Besotted set...Friends Forever.............coloured with my copics. Mounted on foam and then on a base card of Adorable Scorable. This time I got it right and picked my base colour before colouring the image.
I have seen a lot of random placing of sequins and the like out there in blogland, so I decided after great deliberation to add 3 pearls. I coloured white ones with a copic to match the peachy tones! and there we have it!.Oh nearly forgot the touch of glamour dust on the pollen stamens.

Well I can't believe we are in to July and the longest day has been and gone. In the crafting world Christmas has raised it's head with a lot of new goodies to tempt us...........have you bought any yet? I suppose I will succumb at some point...but not as yet...I swear if I lived my life over again, and some more, I need not buy any more Christmas stash...but I will be tempted by that crafting devil I am sure.

Ok that leaves me to wish you all a wonderful rest of your week and a fabulous weekend...lets hope the weather stays in the UK, we have to make the most of it!...speaking of which I had better go peg out the washing ...again!....guaranteed to rain again as soon as I do!

By the way....I have got my ring back from the jewellers all repaired and gleaming (new diamond)....so I am happy bunny again!

Take care everyone...see you again soon.

In the Pink!

Good evening friends!...well it's evening here anyway and almost the end of another week! I am late this week...been too busy crafting to blog!...but I have been sneaking a peek at what you have all been up to...and some beautiful work is out there I have to say. I can't show all I have made yet ...but will do soon.

For the moment though I have a very pink card.!
I recently bought some bargains...and these pictured below were from Samuel Taylors Mega Sale.

The embossing folder and stamp are Sixxiz hero arts and come as a pair... the idea being that you stamp and then emboss. Well I have to say that I had a bit of trouble with that one...thank goodness for the recycling bin! I inked my card, aligned my folder and ran it through the Big Shot...(yes I gave it an airing instead of the Grand Calibur).............but the card cracked...... so I changed ink and it was a lot better. I am still not sure whether it is the ink that caused the problem, or the card, or both! If you have the answer please let me know.

Ta Daa

The other bargain is an older Paula Pascual set (also in the sale at ST)...pretty flowers with lines and dots that I stamped and coloured with copics and generally played with...then made my flower (bit of glamour dust here) and stamped my sentiment (LOTV).
So quick (or not so in my case) and easy and quite effective I think. Would be good perhaps in a darker colour for a male card minus the flower.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Thank You for stopping by to see me, and also thanks a lot if you leave me a comment. I love to hear from you and it is much appreciated.
Take care, stay safe and well, and I will be back next week.

Crafty hugs to all

'Lilac time'

Good afternoon blogging friends...how are we today? Well, I hope and having a good week so far.

Are you ready to be depressed?...NO!.....OK then I won't mention that we are half way through June and after Sunday the days get shorter, the nights will start  to get darker and I also won't mention for us Brits that summer doesn't appear to have even properly arrived yet...at least in the North of the country.Still in socks and cardi! Also I will seal my lips about the fact that Create and Craft on the telly are doing Chr.......ssshhhhhh...the 'C' word!..........No I won't mention any of that and depress you.

Instead how about my card (that could depress you of course but I do hope not).

Are we sitting comfortably with a brew and a smile on our faces? ...here goes then........

This card has been hanging around my desk in varying stages of unmade, so I thought it was time I brought it together.

I wanted to showcase the embossing fold (Creative Expressions fantails) which I used on a piece of card and them mounted on my base card (sorry that's' probably obvious). I used an image from an LOTV art pad....I have had these a while and never used before and very excitedly I cut it out with my stitched rectangles (Memory Box I think).........memory...now that's the clue!........and then mounted on lilac Adorable Scorable (Hunkydory) card...I love this card for all sorts of things and such pretty colours. two layers of ribbon wrapped round and a sentiment from LOTV too........stamped on a snippet of card so they might let me in to the playground this week.

I made my little bow (after great deliberation) with my bow maker....I have not used this contraption very much...it is very simple to use....but I could not remember what to do of course so had to resort to the DVD and Stephanie Weightman to remind me!! It' so easy...doh!

A bit of bling in the way of sparkly gems and Glamour Dust on the flowers and ....ta daa....all done.
Lacking a little dimension but I know it is to be posted so chose to keep it pretty flat.

Are you still smiling?......good , mission accomplished then.
I shall away to the playground, and maybe some other challenges too.

Till next time, be good (boring I know).............but Santa is watching .......is the new ToDo on your list?...........not on mine...mine is ToDo list of a different sort. Apparently ToDo means 'everything' in Spanish which pretty much sums it up. I have 'everything' TO DO on my list!
(For those that do not know the ToDo is a new machine launched on Create and Craft that die cuts, embosses, letter presses and hot foils....at a price of course!)

OK friends
Take care, thanks for popping by and thank you if you have left me love in a comment...they are all so much appreciated. See you later. Hugs...  Carole  xx

95 years young!

Well Hello everyone!  I haven't forgotten you all...I have been busy nosing at all your wonderful creations that I haven't had time to blog...lol......so it's all your fault really you see! Welcome to my new followers too, I hope you will pop by regularly and say hi.......I love it when people connect.

So here we are starting the second week in June...it's summer here in the UK..........and the last few days have been better in the sunshine stakes, but terrible for the wind....! ( naughty, not that sort) It's battering all the little plants and the tall ones too and makes it still a bit on the chilly side.

Bolton last weekend (last one in May) was a good show and saw me part with some pennies so to speak....I did get some £1 bargains and some necessary bits (boring things like glue) and when I got home and looked I seemed to have very little in my bag considering what I spent! More added to the NBUS for the moment :)
The problem is you put it all in one bag to be green these days..... and instantly have less bags...so looks like less stuff, and lets face it a big box would look impressive, but not really apt for a small bottle of glue. Finished the day off meeting friends for a meal and a good catch up. Trust me there were people there with suitcases...suitcases!!!!!  I mean think how many pennies they parted with...or perhaps it was full of a big box with a small bottle of glue!  tee hee

Right before you get bored and move on ...a card...for my mum who celebrated 95 years yesterday! Yes she had me late in life being as I am only 21!  hmmmmm........... Now thinking about it if I live till 95 my eldest will be 70!(work that one out).... yikes don't tell him he'll freak out! Anyway here is her card....

It uses the new Indigo Blu stamp..called Blue peeking which I stamped and embossed in wow superfine black powder.......what a gorgeous face this cat has. We had a black cat called Sooty when I was a child so it reminded mum of that. The background was inked with distress inks...tumbled glass, milled lavender and  spun sugar and then die cut using Sue Wilson Noble Rectangles. Sentiment is computer generated and the rest from stash. Plenty of glamour dust in use though not obvious on the photos...sorry. Oh and the base card is adorable scorable embossed form Hunkydory. Quite pleased with the outcome and a change from a CAS card.
Mum had a steady stream of visitors bringing flowers and chocolates etc and we had a chinese takeaway to round off the day...lovely.

Well I have taken up enough of your precious blogging time so will let you go with the usual 'Thank You' for stopping by......and I would love it if you let me know you have been.
Take care, keep safe and well, and enjoy your week.
See you next time.
Hugs Carole xx

PS. I will enter this in some challenges if I get through the Everest of ironing in the basket...and the washer is making more as I speak! Sunshine makes me wash!!  lol........away to it Carole!

Lost and found (or not)

Hi friends!
Well I say it again...here we are at the end of another week ...gone in the blink of an eye...along with another month! the weather in this part of the world is a mixture of rain, wind, sunshine and its blooming cold too! Still not got out the sandals, and rid of the socks and jumpers!

OK weather bulletin over...........crafting............mmmmmmmmmmm a tad thin on the ground this week. Life just keeps getting in the way and I seem to spend more time thinking than executing. I did however manage another CAS card...a quickie, using a Clearly Besotted set that I thought was rather different called..........mmm.........senior moment here.........ah got it!.....'In print'

Here it is

Nothing very original in design I guess but cute frogs. The googly eyes...well I knew I had them...somewhere....spent 30 mins plus and I could not find them...where on earth could they be?...I could see them in my mind...... look again Carole...so I did...back to the start ...and yes there they were in the first place I had looked ,tucked away in a poly bag! The only trouble is that set me off also looking for some wooden flowers and snowflakes that I know I have...the ones in a little box, you know the ones....can't find them anywhere....might just have to misplace something else in order to find them!

On the subject of 'lost'...update on the diamond...hubby knows every inch of the carpets and floors in the house...his knees are telling him so...but alas no diamond, so the said ring is now with the jewellers awaiting a decision on repair.

Do hope you all have a fabulous weekend whatever you are doing. We are meeting up with some dear friends for a long catch up after we have visited Bolton Arena (GBCF) for an elbow jostling session no doubt...so if you see me...elbow me and say hi! There is not much I need really...till I get there that is...and it would be silly to pay for a ticket and not buy anything now wouldn't it!  :)

Take care my friends, and keep safe and well and hopefully see you next month. Thanks for stopping by and leaving me kind words...you are all so wonderful..............was it Dame Edna that said...'I love you all'.

Just a Note...

Good evening friends.
Well I blinked and another week passed.....did it do the same for you? The weather her in West Yorkshire is wet, then sunny, extremely windy and very cold...8.5 degrees today...brrrr....back in the winter woollies!

The other weekend I went to Samuel Taylor's to see Julia Watts demoing Sue Wilson dies...boy did she work hard, never stopped...not even for a bite of lunch. She was brilliant. Needless to say I had to buy a few dies (it would have been rude not to)and this one was among those that fell into my basket.

Just a Note......I cut this 3 times...twice in white and once in black and layered it up. The music notes were part of a stencil... a freebie in a recent magazine and I knew as soon as I saw it this was what I wanted to do (not very often that happens for me).I used a black Adirondack ink through the stencil. There is actually an embossed line above the notes, created on my score board but it does not show on the picture...sorry...bad light today.

That's it!.........CAS...........not much else to say!..........certainly not as fabulous as all your creations.

So how are we all? Well... I hope and probably if you are in England wishing for warmer weather like me.Looking round blog land there is some very beautiful work created by yourselves. I don't seem to have got quite back into the swing of things since our computer dramas.

Yesterday to add to the mix I discovered that I had lost a diamond out of my engagement ring  :(
I hate losing things, and as it is a cluster it is only a small diamond and like looking for a needle in a haystack....no chance, but quite upsetting all the same. You know that moment I am sure when you look at something and its not there...ear-ring.....watch ...credit card...purse etc. and your heart skips a beat.

OK I have waffled enough..............enjoy the rest of your week my friends, blink and it will be gone and enjoy the Bank Holiday (England)......lets hope it gets warmer. See you next week hopefully!
Take care
Love Carole xx

Par-Tee time.

Hello!!!!! yes it's me............and fingers crossed a repaired computer. We are on our 3rd hard drive since last September! so hoping it is 3rd time lucky! Boy how you miss these things.

So how are we all...good I hope. I have been having a sneak at your blogs and my what wonderful work all my blogging friends create....you really do put me to shame.I often think how wonderful it would be to all be able to get together and craft, the things we would learn from one another and the fun we would have......oh and the wine..............sorry tea and coffee we would all get through............lol.

OK on with the sons Birthday card. A golfing theme was the order of the day this year...these birthdays seem to come round a lot more than once a year...do you find that?

I cut an aperture in a 6x6 inch card and kept the circle for inside. On another piece of card I inked a background with distress inks...Mowed Lawn and Broken China and mounted that behind my aperture........yes a bit of a hilly golf course..........can you tell I don't play?........... then I lined the inside with another piece of card so it was neat.
The golfer is a LOTV image stamped and coloured with copics (quite a challenge I have to say) and I fussy cut him out. The little golf buggies, bag and clubs are Memory Box (so cute) and the clouds are Joy dies. The sentiment was computer generated on a self made tag and I added the faux stitching and the golf balls are candy that I indented with a small embossing tool and coloured with a light grey copic.

Are you still with me?.............then I shall continue............with a close up of the golfer

and the inside............

His present was money for a new golf bag...bet he doesn't buy a blue one!

Well it's good to be back among friends so if you have popped in.....thank you and please give me a wave and leave a comment so I know I am not alone.

Enjoy the rest of your week folks..............weather still mixed here in west Yorkshire, sunny, rainy and very windy!
Take care and keep safe and well.
See you soon (I hope)

Hi...the computer that is....behaving badly...it spent last week at the repair people...and keeps crashing still...so it's heading back again next week...sigh!
SO.......this is just to let you know that I have not abandoned you all...and I hope you will not abandon me when I return with something to show you...son's Birthday card next week.....all being well.
Aaaaag...... it's just crashed again! so before it gets to the stage where it won't boot up at all. I shall love you and leave you to have a wonderful BH weekend and hopefully I shall be back at the end of next week.

Happy Anniversary

Hi there my good friends! Phew I thought I would just rush in before you all went off to do other things...hope I haven't missed you so glad if I caught you. Sorry to have been a bit short on the old posting...no excuse really...just life and I have to say the past few days I have been giving Rudolph a run for his money on the red nose stakes...I have no idea where this cold has come from but it can sure go back there.

Ok...you want to see a card... I have two for you, both on the same lines though...here goes.....

1)

  and 2)

Can you spot the difference?................lol

I just adore this die...a new acquisition I have to say...hangs head in shame here.......whatever happened to 'nothing new' ?

I used leather look card for my base......in white and then added the die cut. It cuts, embosses and de-bosses does this Spellbinders Diamond Floral and I inked through the die with distress inks in Bundled Sage and Spun Sugar. A few pearls and a touch...just a smidgen.... of Glamour Dust......apologies for bad photos.
The greeting stamp is from LOTV.....these are so fine and precise to stamp with. I hand cut the tag on the first one as I don't have a die that does fish tail banners ( I think that is the right name).

So any preference?  I have to say these were quick to make (for me thats a plus). I knew what I had in mind and they came together well.

So what have you all been up to this week? It has been a lovely week weather wise here, today being the warmest day...washing out!..and we all know what that makes don't we!! Looks like it is set to change for the weekend...hubby not happy...he says it always rains on a weekend and he likes to get in to the garden.

Welcome to my new follower Marie Louise. I do hope you keep popping in, like what you see and say hello too.

I guess I had better stop waffling and let you all get back to your evening or whatever. I have to say a big thank you to you all for stopping by and leaving me lovely comments that make it all worth while. I enjoy all your blogs...you all do amazing work and I am humbled to part of the gang.

Take care everyone, enjoy your week and I promise to try and be a better blogger. I have eldest son's Birthday card to do next...now there is a challenge.....

See you all soon............keep smiling. :)

Spread Sunshine

Hello blogging friends.
I hope you all had a nice Easter Break and managed to do something nice. We had visitors for a couple of the days...and as soon as they went home on Easter Sunday the weather was glorious!....typical, but despite the murky , misty day we had on Good friday we managed a trip to Salts Mill in Saltaire...David Hockney Gallery...for a bit of culture..... and much enjoyed by all. His I-Pad work is amazing!

So here we are another week has gone and it has been a really good week here in West Yorkshire for sunshine. Quite warm too and that has seen off the little daffodils and the tulips are blooming now.Spring is definitely with us now..............and oh what relief to be able to hang out the washing!....I know ...little things and all that. The birds are very happy chirping away too.

With sunshine in mind, here is my offering...........in sunshine colours.

I am spreading that sunshine....literally it has disappeared here! I hope it has reached you!..........and here is a close up of the flower to show the wink of Stella I used on it........you can just see it!

(blogger has decided to turn my photo on its side...sigh...why? don't know but I can't right it..sorry)

I used Spellbinders Chevron Border, cutting it in two colours of Bazzill Bling card. The contrasting pieces were then used in the centre bits. The flower is Beautiful Blooms 1 for Uniko Studio....this is my all time favourite flower, with matching die. I stamped this in Memento Dandelion.......got to laugh there haven't you...Beautiful Bloom and dandelion! The sentiment is NBUS from stash stamped in Memento Tangelo.

I have enough pieces to make the same card in the reverse colour way so that is next on my list after showing you...............oh and making dinner of course (got to feed hubby). I also never seem to have an empty ironing basket!

I have visited your blogs this week...in fact there is so much loveliness (not sure if that is a word but it does for me) to feast my eyes on out there I seem to forget to go and get on with my creations! You are truly a bunch of such talented people who are truly nice to know. Thank you for all the lovely comments that you leave me.............I have way to go to match some of your talents! but I do love to hear from you.......it spreads that sunshine!

Take care friends and I hope you have a really nice weekend wherever you are, whatever you do and whoever you share it with!
See you next week hopefully...............creativity permitting.

HAPPY EASTER

Hi blogging friends everywhere.
Well I did just manage to get those Easter cards done and out in time and I would like to wish each and everyone of you a very Happy Easter. I hope you have a lovely long weekend (we get one here in the UK) with lots of Easter Goodies.Lets hope the weather warms up a bit here in the UK.

My card is very much self explanatory and uses a Die-Delites from Spellbinders...Filigree Egg, cut into the card and colour mounted behind. The sentiment is an old Anita's one from my stash and there we have it.Lemon insert inside.

OK must dash...lots to do before visitors arrive for the weekend!

Take care and once again HAPPY EASTER and hopefully I will see you all again next week.
