Pretty in Pink

Hi friends!.........well I never made it back last week did I?.....sorry..........I was auditioning for Rudolph!.....no silly not prancing around, couldn't do that to save my life!........in the red nose stakes....aah now you've got it..yes?......sporting a very sore red nose due to  a cold virus that decided I looked such a nice place to be a host. Still full of it(the cold) but feeling better and the nose looks more like its been on a sunbed without the rest of my face now!(it's at the peeling stage)...........sorry you didn't really need to know all that........... hey ho...onward and upward as they say.

So did you all have a good weekend then?..any crafting?......popping round blog land you all seem to have been busy...doesn't ease my guilt when I see you all playing you know.It just really serves to actually remind me how much Christmas stuff I have that is still unused!

I do however have a card to share with you......here it is.............and it's not a Christmas one!

This is a die I bought a while back in a sale and have never used so I decided to air it and cut it on a scrap of pearlescent card from the bit box, then I mounted it on the same card (another piece from the bit box) which I cut with pierced squares...the double ones by sue Wilson (really like them). Then I cut it again from another scrap of white card and cut out the butterflies with a craft knife, inked them with a pearl ink and mounted over the top of the same butterflies in the die.....added the pearls and the sentiment..(.Diesire die) then mounted the whole thing on 3D foam on my base card.

There we have it. My only problem is the red bits you can see...........funny the camera does not pick up the lovely sheen to the card, but picks up the red bits from the die....the die itself is red(can't remember the make.........so next time I must remember to use some waxed paper and hopefully avoid that.

Right I had better prance off to the craft room and see if I can squeeze some inspiration from my soggy mind. I do hope you are all well and not going through the tissues at the same rate as me!
Hubby has a day off tomorrow for my Birthday so we can go out............then he works on his Birthday next week because he has no holiday left...aaaahhhhhh...love him. After the birthdays are over we can think Christmas!

Take care my friends and I may see you in the playground this week with this one  (if I get there). Might blow the cobwebs away!

See you later and thank you so much for calling in and saying hi...it is so very much appreciated...big hugs to you all..........careful don't catch the cold!

Oh nearly forgot to tell you that the washer got fixed, a day later than said...engineer was ill...perhaps he too had the cold?......no he would have had the flu!

  1. Hi Carole! Sorry to hear you've had such a rotten cold - I too end up like Rudolph, no matter how I try to avoid it - right down to the peeling :( Very sore too. It's a bit drastic but I tend to use Zovirax for cold sores (which I also suffer from) around my beak when a stinking cold gets a hold. It dries the skin dramatically and it does still peel but without the really intense inflammation - if that make sense?

This is such a lovely card - really pretty and I love that you used the die cut on the same colour background as you did. And the little added butterflies are just gorgeous - a fabulous addition.

I wouldn't have spotted the red bits from the die if you hadn't pointed it out - wax paper might well work though, certainly worth a try.

Good to see you in the Playground - hopefully you won't get the role of Rudolph - Mrs A is holding those annual Nativity Play Auditions right now, aided and abetted by SaRn. What a pair, they add a handful of grey hairs to my head every Christmas with their antics :) I'm wondering whether they'll come up with a part for a Long John Silver in the play this year - if so then I'm in with a head start :)

    Hugs

  2. Di again! Just been going through comments in the Playground to check who would like to be in the prize draw and found your reference to the Rudolph role in 'the play wot they wrote'. Would you likey me to put in a good word for you? :) As I already said here, I can do Long John (or Jane) Silver - maybe with Parsnip perched on my shoulder instead of a parrot?! Oh dear, I need to ease back on the pain killers :(

    Hugs

  8. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, my sweet friend! Hope you spent a lovely day with your husband and that your cold decided to *vacate the premises* to allow you to enjoy a marvelous tasty meal! Your shimmery, delicate, elegant butterfly card...oh my stars! It's a *balmy* -25C here (woolies, mittens, scarves, my gigantic down coat..so not stylish!) so seeing this springy card has warmed me immensely! Gorgeous! Sending positive vibes that you're feeling better and an early Happy Birthday to your husband!
    Hugs and love,
