Whizzing by..........oh! just passed myself coming the other way.........Oh Hi there!!....fancy bumping into you..how are you? I do hope you are well and haven't succumbed to any of the bugs that are around. If you have...I wish you well very quickly.....get rid for Christmas!
I can't believe we are half way through another week and it's December. The more organised I am , the more I find to do. It isn't helped by the fact it was my birthday last week.........thank you for those that sent me good wishes..............and it's hubbies tomorrow (only just finished his card, I couldn't buy him one again this year now could I ) so there are those festivities in the middle of Christmas planning. We had a nice day out at that big Garden Centre in Manchester with a nice lunch and hubby is celebrating tomorrow............by going to work! big aahhhhhhhh. I might do him egg and chips for tea as a treat (only joking).
So today it's a Christmas card.I know I haven't blogged more than a couple unlike the rest of you...I have just whizzed round blog land and what a feast for the eyes....where do you all find the time and the inspiration.....such a clever lot you are...........take a bow.
Here we go..........a tweak of a Creative Expression card again but I like the end result very much and it's not often I say that!
It probably speaks for itself, but I used mostly sue Wilson dies............she does design some fabulous ones, a dotty embossing folder and the poinsettia is a Creative Expression stamp on vellum and white heat embossed, then die cut. I cut the snowflakes off the sentiment die to leave me with ...you guessed...just the sentiment!! A touch of Platinum Stickles for a tiny bit of bling and the star.
I had a bit of trouble die cutting the embossed vellum...the embossing chipped off the vellum.......has anyone else experienced that or is it just me? In the end I fussy cut them in order to avoid it.
Just before I go I must tell you that a couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a voucher from Clearly Besotted in the comment draw. How chuffed was I as I love Stephanie's stamps and dies. So I was able to go shopping...yippee and my prize arrived last week near my birthday. The presentation of your package from CB is a present itself...all beautifully wrapped and their Customer Service...second to none. So..........if you haven't seen their stamps pop over and take a look.........hang on to that plastic though , it will be raring to go!..................and thank you Clearly Besotted for a wonderful surprise and treat. Just need to find some time to play now!!
Don't know if I will have the time to source any challenges this week.....Oh there I go again in the other direction..........meeting myself coming back again......must go and try and catch up!
Take care friends till I bump into you again!
Love Carole xx
Challenges TBA (maybe)

Simply Paper Card Design
I love reading every bit of your posts, they always make me smile. Your card is stunning and love every bit of it. The design is fab.
ReplyDeleteI always taught that with heat embossing, you should always leave a gap between the embossed line and the cutting line. I would have thought that the pressure and too close cutting in a machine, would cause the embossing to crack and drop off. You could try die cut first and then stamp and emboss. Hope this helps. Hugs, Carol S.xx
I LOVE the dies you used on this gorgeous card, Carole! So lucky to have won such a great prize!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you enjoyed a great birthday your card today is so classy i just love love this design amazing. Hope hubby has a great birthday as well .I'm in the same Christmas mode as you the more i achieve for Christmas something else takes its place It horrible but I will enjoy it when it finally arrives. About the vellum I tend to use parchment paper when I do this type of flower and it usually works its a bit thicker than vellum I would just buy one sheet and give it a try as it is a little bit dearer than vellum Take care Love and hugs Carole x
ReplyDeleteHey, watch where you're, oh, Carole, it's you I bumped into! No wonder that happened with both of us whizzing and whooshing about like proverbial chickens! If I didn't mention it last time, then Happy Belated Birthday to you and your spud, er, spouse! Your Chrissy card looks like beautiful needlework on the monitor! The textured card looks like fabric! The whole design is magnificent! I'm with you on the flaky vellum and just saw what Carole P had to say above - that's a new and clever idea that I may try myself! Gotta love Blogland!! Happy Holiday Hugs! Darnell
ReplyDeleteI'm tardy in commenting, dear friend, because much of last week and the weekend saw my husband and I host and hostessing my brother-in-law. He came to do a few minor updates to our place (changing lights in the kitchen, some drywall repair...painting and baseboards will wait until the spring). Alas, the lights we selected made the kitchen darker than it was with the old so...in with the new, out with new, back in with the old. Sighhh..I didn't realize how challenging finding the right lights can be! Oh well...at least he had plenty of time to read, sleep and relax! Okay, your card has me in awe! A gorgeous design with the beautiful Nativity scene on the left and your lovely poinsettia and leaves cluster to the right! Elegant, classy, festive and all around fabulous! Hope you had a marvelous weekend! I'm hoping to carry on with Christmas cards this week! Addressing and mailing them...that's a whole 'nother story *grin*

Hiya, first up - belated happy birthday to you and Mr CardandCake! Hope you had a lovely day and got some nice pressies. I'm right there with you about getting a little parcel (or sometimes a big parcel!) from Clearly Besotted, always beautifully wrapped.
ReplyDeleteSo by now you will be super organised, deccies up, cards made, written and posted off, Christmas cake decorated, ginger bread house made, sitting in your Christmas jumper sipping some mulled wine or sherry (hic) and if not, why not?? Too busy running round bumping into people!
