"Chin up"

Well hello everyone.
I can't believe where the past two weeks have gone.....I have been busy with various things...mainly appointments...some not so nice...others OK ....and of course a couple of days with Iain,Nicole and Thomas! (Managed to get rid of the cold before then...Thank you for all your Get Well wishes)

After all that I have only a very simple quick card to share ...I was in two minds whether to show you....but as I have nothing else here it is.
A couple of weeks ago I received a parcel in the post...I was a winner in a magazine draw for some Hunkydory products......very pretty, and as you know I really like their adorable scorable card, so as the mojo had gone.(probably still with Thomas) I cribbed from the ideas sheet that came with the goodies, and basically copied this....no brownie points I know, but quite suitable for my mum and step-dads Wedding Anniversary this week.....I did add the obligatory glamour dust in places!

The hardest part to this was cutting round the flowers with the craft knife to insert the topper. It has a lovely sheen and foiling in real life...not so apparent on my photo.

You may wonder about my post title.....well this is why.....note the caption underneath....

'Chin up Grandma'!......don't let them see the extra one!

This makes me smile every time I look at it...hope it does you too. He is 3 months old now...a real cutie (biased of course)...wonder when I shall get to see him again?

Thank you for stopping by, I will try not to be as long posting next time. Take care everyone...keep well......oh and chin up!

Halloween I 'm told!

Hi friends.........yes Halloween was the comment from eldest son on his Birthday card......

.. he thought what I had meant as red paint looked like blood.....wish I had used another colour now!!
So another flop as he didn't seem that keen...............remind me next year to buy one!! Sentiment computer generated and stamps from Crafters Companion 'For the Men'

I seem to have picked up a summer cold from somewhere.....well a cold anyway...the summer bit has passed me by although the past two days here have been warm and sunny (maybe that was summer) but today we are back to a blanket of cloud again. I need to get rid of it pronto as next week I am looking forward to a visit from ......yes Thomas!! my second cuddle...and I won't be allowed near if I have a cold will I!! he is 3 months old now and changed quite a bit since our visit to them.

I hope this finds you all well and ready for the weekend again...came round quick this week didn't it!.....because of the Bank Holiday.
Thank you for stopping by to visit me, your visits make my day! and I love catching up with your wonderful work on your blogs.

Enjoy your weekend...fingers crossed for that sun and we will catch up agan soon.....the kettle is calling now!...atishoo...and the kleenex..lol

New Home

Good evening everyone......another weekend gone and we are into May!....and still the weather is rubbish...I really want some warmth now all this cold and damp is wearing a bit thin.

My eldest son and his partner/girlfriend...whatever they call themselves these days...moved house this weekend and so this card was made for them.

I cut my layers with the double pierced squares (Sue Wilson) and stamped my little cottage and trees etc with some little stamps I have had for years and came across in my stash......coloured very simply with Copics. The New Home sentiment is a Crafters Companion Die'sire die....Then for some reason...and I am not sure what...I joined the dots  holes with a fine liner to look like faux stitching....and then I wished I hadn't!.....Well can't get it right all the time I guess.

I hope you are all well and enjoy the week ahead....a short one this week.....these Bank Holidays here in the UK always throw me out with the days!

See you later in the week with same son's birthday card! Take care.

'Happy Birthday to you'

Hello blogging friends!
Well it's Friday again...how the weeks are flying by..........but that's all been said before so I shall quickly move on.

The design for this card has been replaying itself over in my head all week...until I actually got to sit down and execute (big word there) it. I had the idea..loosely based (can't do with tight things) on the Mothers Day card that my eldest son sent me.........sorry I have stashed it away for safe keeping so cannot show you my inspiration unfortunately.............yes honest.....I do a still have it, stashed away with years of cards that my children have sent me and I still have (as Mothers do).

Here is my card.........

and the back as well.... I know...how cool is that!!........

I dug out a suitable flower stamp...now I have lots of flower stamps...but it was touch and go whether I had one to do the job ...if you know what I mean. Anyway I did (it had to be solid in design)...sorry I have had this set years  ages and it's NBUS (head hanging in shame)...but I have now rectified that (smiling now).
I stamped randomly with Versamagic inks (two colours....sorry.... thats's obvious) and when dry drew round each one with a quickie (they should think of another name for that) glue pen and added my favourite glamour dust.
The sentiment was computer generated and raised on foam pads for a bit of dimension and when I know who I might send it to..the rhyme will be finished off inside..........now....put your thinking caps on and see if you can guess what it will say.......

Easy peasy eh?

So if you are celebrating a Birthday this weekend...have a Happy one...and if not ...well have a Happy UN-Birthday. Enjoy whatever you do (weather permitting).
Stay safe and well, thanks for popping in, your visits make me happy.
Talking of which I appear to have lost a follower this week, don't know if its down to blogger or did someone fall out with me   :(    I hope not, let's face it guys...I need all the friends I can get!!...lol

Toodle pip for now

Something fishy!

Good morning friends......I hope you are all well.
It's definitely April showers here...heavy ones with the odd sunny spell and there is still quite a nip in the air. I am really fed up with this rain now and want some warmer weather, the garden is sodden....too wet to dig, the daffodils have finished and I fear several of the perennials in the garden have rotted off with all the wet!!

On to my make this week......another male card.....

The image is a 'Little Claire' stamp that saw ink for the first time. I first coloured some card with three distress inks...broken china, worn lipstick and squeezed lemonade and then stamped on top with archival ink. I added a drop of water to the clouds with a paintbrush and then dabbed to remove the ink. The layers were cut with Sue Wilson Pierced Squares dies. The sentiment comes with the stamp.

I hope you have nice things planned for the upcoming weekend....doing what makes you 'happy'.......sadly not so here...but I am sure hubby will find something to do which will involve the...have you got a minute...phrase! Sound familiar?...........wish I was near enough to go to Ally Pally!!

Thanks for popping in, take care now...

'Boats and Bunnies'

Hello Friends!.....
another week gone, yes and another month too, and April here has started off with the obligatory April showers. Yesterday was glorious sunshine and warmer...very Spring like, today.....cooler, damp, and of course we are heading for a Saturday so what do we expect!!

Another simple make from me for my step-dads birthday.

I took this from an old 'Making Cards' magazine, papers and image. I added the blue and red card and hand drew the squiggly line...yes... I know pat on the back there! The corrugated paper was from a biscuit packet.....sorry can't remember what they were so you can't all rush out and buy a packet. I have to say though it is the best excuse I can come up with for buying biscuits....lol
A Craftwork cards sentiment, bit of twine and a couple of pieces of Card Candi glazed with Diamond Glaze....oh and a touch of glamour dust on the water (not visible in the photo)......and there we have it...quick..ish, simple and I like it!....................ta de dah dah te dah.....that's me...blowing my trumpet   :)

So Easter came and went and threw me out with the days this week...oh by the way...here are the Easter thrones for the Cadbury Creme eggs that graced my table on Easter Sunday. Everyone liked them (well there were only 4 of us) so the eggs got eaten...thus only the one for me  :(

Is it me but they do get smaller every year.?..must cost Cadburys a bomb in new moulds!!

The cute bunny is a Memory Box die...'frilly bunny'.....comes complete with bow for his neck.

OK I am off to put the kettle on...please pop in for one if ever you pass....someday someone may just surprise me!
Have a super weekend whatever you are doing...hubby is praying for dry weather so he can get in the garden...and me? well I am bound to find a drawer or cupboard that needs my attention...preferably in the craft room....lol
Take care and thank you for spending time with me and leaving the lovely comments that you do.

See you next week.

Happy Easter

HAPPY EASTER  everyone. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and lots of chocolate!

Here as promised my last two Easter cards...both quick and easy again....

This is Warren (above), he is from Craftwork Cards.....a blank topper to colour that I found in my stash and I coloured with the usual copics and a touch of sparkle on the egg (though you cannot see it in the picture). he is on a plain 4 1/2 inch square card that I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder (ages old).......the sentiment is stamped and the rest is obvious.

The second card is another LOTV image...this time a stamp that was coloured with copics again and a touch of glitter on his tail and the eggs.

So there we have them and now I am off to make egg thrones in the playground after school club (see Sarns blog link for a u-tube video).

Before I go I would like to welcome my new follower Anne, well renowned for her brilliant cards sporting fabulous LOTV images...pop over to her blog and say hello, I am sure you will love what you see.

A quiet weekend here.....just the eldest son and partner on Sunday for dinner.....the Londoners can't make it as they have  Australian visitors still... so no baby cuddles for me!     :(

If you are travelling , be safe, keep well, and thank you for stopping by, I know time is precious...oooh talking of time ....don't forget to alter your clock this weekend if you are in the UK.
