Hi friends...welcome to February!! A very windy one here...but what happened to January? I blinked and missed it but it is good here in the UK that we are heading to spring and the days are getting a little longer thank goodness.
Here is a recent birthday card for a friends husband using a NBUS die and all made from snippets...so two places to go and join in with this one. It has been received but the birthday is not till the weekend, but as they do not look at my blog I am safe to post.
For me this came together fairly quickly and I for once am pleased with the result and intend to do some for 'the box' in different colourways.
So, as I said all snippets from the box of LARGE snippets...yes I have three boxes, you guessed it, large, medium and tiny!!
The inking was done on paper with three shades of oxides blended with my brushes that I love so much and the top layer (the die) was cut into a piece of linen textured card, raised over the top with foam pads and the addition of a few glossies and a sentiment. (Uniko). The die is from Crafters Companion in the sale (turned out a good buy)and has two outer edges so it can be use three ways.
I did wonder afterwards if the colours were suitably male.
I hope you are all well and thank you for stopping by. Blog land is diminishing before our eyes, but I still feel it is the friendliest and safest of the social platforms, so every visit by you is so very much appreciated.
I will be back hopefully next week when i can share Thomas's 6th birthday card that I am pleased to say has already arrived in Oz :)
I am ..hopefully...I say that as I always have trouble linking up..to join in the following challenges.
Snippets Playground #420...............all snippets as in post
NBUS #35 ......................................Crafters Companion die
Your blended background looks fabulous behind those stars. Love the die too xx
ReplyDeleteCarole what a great design idea so lovely I’m sorry I have not been around much recently trying very hard to catch up with everything . I find since My husband has not been well my time is limited just about keeping up with my DT stuff . Things are improving so hope to get around a bit more I hope you are doing OK and I agree we must keep posting on our blogs it’s still the best sending love and hugs Carole x
ReplyDeleteNot missed you this time Carole!! I was getting a bit concerned, not seeing you on the blog. Something was not working on my Reading List, as I was only getting 3 or 4 a day!!
ReplyDeleteSo now just love seeing your beautiful cards. This card is amazing and love the colours. They blend together perfectly. The design is stunning.
Hope you are still keeping safe and well. Big hugs, Carol S.xxxx
Well, Carole, you've used my favorite colors so I'm biased, but I think this festive starry design would be suitable for any gender and any age! The hard part about running the NBUS challenge is that I'm always being enabled, lol, but I LOVE that die so I'll be off to CC! I think cutting it from the linen card for subtle texture was very smart. Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS and great job using your snippets! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteThe colours are perfect, that’s a fabulous card and a really good idea, and the dots finish it off nicely, it has really inspired me. I too struggle sometimes with linking, that’s assuming I make my card on time, which is rare haha, and blogland is my happy place too xxx
ReplyDeleteOh this is fabulous for a male birthday and I adore the lime green and turquoise blended together, great colour combination and suitably masculine.
ReplyDeleteI like the star die and the options you have with it, versatility is good for us crafters.
Nice to see your creations, take care x
Wonderful card, Carole. I love your colour choice. xx
ReplyDeleteLike you looking forward to Spring Carole. I do like blue and green as a colour palette and it looks very pretty here through the stencil work.

ReplyDeleteI bet you thought I'd got lost! ;) A fabulous card and I love the die that you've used. I can't wait for the spring and warmer days, it feels like it's been cold forever x
ReplyDeleteGreat card Carole - gosh, I do love the top layer die you used - and the colours are beautiful!

FAB-u-LOUS deployment of your NBUS

I love this card! Great ink blending! I need to try this more, using the negative space of the dies to place over the ink blended piece.
