Hi friends.....late to the party again! Life in the way of a bad back has intervened this time.
Anyway here is the card I made for Thomas who was 6 today!...well yesterday in Oz!
I invested In Sam Calcotts reveal Wheel die set and the Space themed stamps, embossing folder and dies that accompanied it...
I used the embossing folder on a piece of silver mirri card and then got out the alcohol inks to make it a bit dark and space looking. The stamps were fun to use and colour and easy to cut with the dies and I personalised it as you can see.
More images show as you turn the wheel on the right. It was straight forward to do and I enjoyed doing it but I kept it as flat as possible for posting. This time it arrived in good time (17 days...better than 4 months) but as yet no feed back on how it has gone down with the birthday boy.
Plenty of snippets used here and NBUS stuff again but as I have been sitting in front of the computer long enough...trying to link to challenges will have to wait. I got myself in a right tuck last time and it was thanks to Di in the playground for sorting me out.
I hope Sam brings out some more different themed stamp sets that can be used. Of course the window can be made larger...and I am sure I will maybe find some images in my stash that may do too. I remember buying cards like this years ago with different ages on when you spun it round and you taped it still at the age you wanted.....and now I am showing mine!!..feel it too right now!..lol
Thank you all so very much for the lovely comments that you left me on my last post...you gave me a much needed boost and every comment is so much appreciated because you have taken the time to stop by and type it.
I hope you are all well and safe wherever you are in the world.
Big crafty hugs and love to you all...see you soon. Take care now!

I bet the birthday boy was thrilled to bits with this awesome space themed card. The background is my favourite part, its very cosmic. There is a lot of fun in this card and such a good theme x
ReplyDeleteThis is a super card for Thomas, I struggle with children's cards but this offers much needed inspiration and I am sure he loved such a special card.
ReplyDeleteI hope you back improves, nothing worse for crafting and sitting at the computer. We all need some sunshine and can't wait for the brighter Spring days.

Love your card Carole. The texture on the background is brilliant and perfect for the little fun images. I am sure he will love it too.
DeleteHope your back gets better soon. I know myself what that feels like! Not nice!!
Stay safe and take it easy.
Big hugs and love,

Thomas is going to love this, Carole - what little boy wouldn't when it has sparkle, shine, a space theme, and moving parts too!!! Such a creative design and I LOVE how you embossed then coloured the mirri card with alcohol inks.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your bad back and I hope it improves soon. I think you are quite right not to sit at the computer for too long while it all mends.
Take care.
Hugs

What a really clever card Carol - I wish I'd thought of this idea for my similar card for Luke. It really is briliant!
ReplyDeletePlease, don't worry about linking hiccups - the bad thing about Mr Linky is that once a mistake happens, you (as the entrant) can't retract or delete it - therefore you're stuck and have to call for help. BUT, it can always be sorted out and I promise it's not only you. BTW - I do pay an annual fee for the Mr Linky service - I take the money out of SaRn's profits from her morning crumpet sales in the tree house. Ssssshhhh, don't tell on me!!
Keep on joining in!
Hugs

This is darling, Carole! Just perfect for a six-year-old boy, with fantastic images and great colors, and Thomas will love that it is personalized! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS and well done using your snippets, too! I hope your back feels better soon. Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteA wonderful outer-space card and I'm sure it will be well-received and much played with!
ReplyDeleteCome and find a nice comfy chair for your back and I'll bring you over something to take your mind off the pain! xxx
How clever! This looks really fun, I think I'll tape mine at 35. lol. Great work with the inking, space looks wonderful. I hope your back is better soon, if you can make it to the tree house, I'll see you there x
ReplyDeleteOh what a fabulous card!! I'm sure he will be over the moon with this (excuse the pun). I love the colours! I do hope your back improves... It's not nice. Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a stunning card Carole and sure to go down well with the birthday boy! Love the shiny embossed background and the images you've used and the interactive element is the icing on the cake! Vicky x

ReplyDeleteFantastic card!! Wow how special...bet he loved it!
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, so sorry to read that you've got a bad back and I hope that things improve for you soon. Six? How can he be six already when it only seems like yesterday that he was born! On saying that, my youngest grandson was five last month and it doesn't seem like two minutes since I was blogging about him being born. Time flies doesn't it. Your card is superb and I love the background too, such lovely colours. Take care and I hope you have a good week ahead x
ReplyDeleteWow, your card for Thomas is absolutely wonderful. Gosh, so much to look at. Kudos.
