Hello friends....I am running late as usual...was that January that I just saw whiz past me? but I am still in time to join in Darnells surprise blog hop for Di to celebrate 7 years of the blog.
For those that don't know. Di is the headmistress at Pixie' Snippets Playground where we all gather to have fun, be naughty (sometimes) and be good by using snippets on our cards. Di gives up such a lot of her time and her pennies to encourage us to play and have fun and I have met several of my blogging friends through the playground despite sometimes my sporadic attendance (feel a detention coming here). Importantly you are always made welcome no matter how often or how little you visit...so big thanks Di for all you do for us. xx
My card is all made from snippets....the frame with the rose was a left over piece (Sue Wilson die) that I glued to the scrap that I had inked with oxides...boy did it look a mess until I overlaid the rose. I then mounted it on the base card and added my greeting. The rose was sparkled with clear sparkle pen, but afterwards I wished I hadn't as it moves the oxide ink around a bit. A lesson learned for next time...see it pays to go to school!
Have a good weekend everyone...I'm off to link up with the blog hop at Darnell's...and then I am off to the playground to join the party.
Hugs...and thanks for stopping by...might see you in the playground?
Carole xx
Walked in and turned on the PC (winner winner chicken dinner by the way!)- wasn't going to do any commenting until tomorrow as am dog tired but this is soooo pretty Carole. Miss Di will love it and you will be excused detention! x (Teachers Pet!)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how some inkiness looks like a hot mess until you place something over it?!! This is a stunning card! I love the colors of oxides you used. The colors are in the right spots for this beautiful rose. Yes, those oxides move with anything liquid. lol But it is still beautiful! Di will love it too and you have honored her well! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteFabulous CAS card, Carole. I love your oxide background, such pretty colours. xx
ReplyDeleteI really like how the inks moved with the sparkle pen Carole and I love this clean and stylish design!

Great CAS card and love the oxides background Carole. I had a problem at Christmas with the sparkle pens. I had used Distress Inks mixed into my clay to make my snow people's hats etc. It looked fine and then in the morning, all the colour had gone!! Not impressed! Have a lovely weekend, hugs, Carol S.xx
ReplyDeleteHi Carole, a fun use of snippets, love the colours you used behind the die cut. I'm sure you won't get a detention. Have a wonderful weekend... Megan
ReplyDeleteThat's really beautiful. The colours of the background are perfectly positioned for the lovely rose.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous snippets card for a lovely lady!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Carole, gorgeous colours and the overlaid die is wonderful. Pretty cold here but at least we've not had any snow xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card and lovely colours Carole... I hope you are keeping warm?
ReplyDeleteDelicately delightful design, no one would guess it was snippets at play. Emmax
ReplyDeleteOh I love the Distress Oxide background with the added sparkle and it fits so perfectly with the die cue flower. I think really like that the sparkle pen moved the ink around, it softened the colours and looks dreamy x
ReplyDeleteThe movement you got from adding the schparkle looks great to me, Carole! It's a perfect background for that rose and a great idea which I have made a note of for those snippet backgrounds of mine that don't look so hot on their own! Thank you and thank you so much for joining in the Hop to thank our lovely Miss Di! See you on our usual bench and, of course, you will bring cake, right?! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteFab make and Happy SNIPPETversary to you too

Well I simply LOVE this pretty card. Cannot believe you ever thought that pretty background was a mess. Sure looks gorgeous now!
ReplyDeleteNow, I've set up a HOMEWORK CLUB (but it's really a party, shhhhh, don't tell Miss Di) behind the bike sheds! Still a few chocklit truffles left!
