Happy Valentine's Day!

Back as promised with a quick post to show you hubby's card...yes I got it made...and no not exactly as it was in my head...lol!

Decided on a different tack this year using stamps, dies and an embossing folder from a Creative Stamping /Die cutting magazine............

I embossed the world background on white card and then mounted on two strips or red either side. The erst was mounted up on top and I used foam pads to raise the banner a little. The red heart is a metal brad that I found in my stash...I have oodles of brads from when they were all the rage!!..Have you?............and there we have it, not too slushy!

So what have you got planned for your romantic evening? For us?...an M&S dine in for two and some telly to catch up on...yes boring aren't we? but then I guess  a lot of other people will be boring  too!

However you celebrate..or not...enjoy your evening!..love and hugs and see you again soon.

  7. What a gorgeous card!! I love this Carole... We didn't do anything special either... It was hubby's birthday on the 12th so we celebrated that with a nice meal out.

  10. Sorry I'm so tardy with my visit, Carole! Your card for hubby is brilliant! I love the large globe e/f with the smaller globe in the foreground! Great grounding with the two red strips and sweet heart brad! Do I have a lot of brads from back in the day? Ah, yes, and how about all those colored rivets? The 70s and 80s clothes are coming back, so maybe this is the time to bring back brads and rivets just to use them up! As for how we celebrate VD? Same as you only without the take-out. It is such a commercialized holiday that we decided almost 50 years ago (eep!!) not to get sucked into all that. You know, cuz every day is Valentine's Day around here! Haha! Hugs, Darnell

  11. oooh I love this card Carole, one of your best!
Fantastic use of the embossing folder, I don't think I've seen that one before and wouldn't have had a clue where to use it
Yep it was a takeaway and a film for us too on the 14th, rarely do anything more exciting!
    Have a good weekend

  12. What a simply stunning card Carole! I love that embossed background and the globe and sentiment are a perfect focal point. I bet your Hubby loved it. Yes I have tons of metal-ware that now never sees the light of day but I can't bring myself to throw out, and yes, that is exactly how we celebrated VD too lol!

  13. I'm way behind with commenting. Where does the day go? This embossing folder is unusual but so useful. You could use it in many ways. A brilliant use of the globe and quote. x
