recycling and stamping

Good morning friends.
So NOVEMBER! how did we get here? and so quickly!!
I hope your weekend has got off to a good start and you have something nice planned.....maybe a bonfire party and a few fireworks, of maybe a cosy night in after a busy day shopping...or in the crafty zone?
For us it's a nice meal out with my eldest son and partner... a good chat and catch up as they lead such busy lives, we don't get together often enough.

On to my card...
It's another bit of recycling/up-cycling  and a bit of stamping too.
Do you remember the robin card here I shared with you? Well I cut them with the outer die from the frame of three which left me with the aperture in this card...... and then I made an inky background, stamped my trees in Smokey Grey Versafine, and added the proverbial glamour dust! popped it behind the aperture...another card for the stash!

and a close up to show the sparkle....

I tried to do my background with brushes and distress inks...not very successfully I have to say...definitely need more practice with the brushes.

I still haven't found the time to play with my new oxides.....no space on my desk to get them out either! I am so cluttered at the moment...the floor is covered, I keep falling over things and all my Christmas stash is on the guest bed in the spare room...good job no-one is coming to stay! I just have not got enough space!!!!!! A big sort out is looming in the New Year I think. I seem to find it so hard to part with things, even the smallest snippet of card, but I feel my clutter is holding me back...feng shui and all that.

Thank you for popping in,please do leave me a comment so I know you have been...I love to read them.....I know my creations are not mind blowing but at least I am using up some stuff...a small indent in the huge pile....doesn't make me anymore space though!

Enjoy your weekend and take care with those fireworks please.

  2. Gorgeous card Carole, love all the sparkle and your background looks fine to me. I still can't seem to master backgrounds and end up using chalks as I find them so much easier.
Hope you have a fabulous meal and catch up with your son. Enjoy the rest of the weekend xx

  3. Not every card has to be mind blowing, if fact that would be uncomfortable, but yours is delicately pretty and the sparkle lifts it beautifully. I have a stash of boxes under my bed. (Partly so no-one knows how much stuff I have). It means I do have to put them away or I can't get into it at night but my desk is covered in bits of paper and failed ideas. A sort out is needed here too. x

  5. A beautiful card Carole. I just love trees and these look so pretty. I also think they look really nice stamped in the smokey grey as it’s a little less harsh than then black. I have that colour myself and I really must use it more so many thanks for the inspiration. I hope that your meal went well. It was a cozy night in for us and I’ve had some time today to make a card for rememberence day, so I’ll be posting that on the 11th. Wishing you a happy and colourful week. Crafty hugs, Sandra x

  6. Carole, let's prepare some warm beverages, bundle up and go for a wander-and-chat through that stunning, peaceful forest! You've designed a scene I'd love to step in to...a place to connect with nature. LOVE! I totally relate to 'clutter' interfering with creativity. I'm aiming for a sorting-and-selling (or giving away, as the case may be) in the very near future; things that I haven't used certainly warrant a new home where they'll receive more TLC than I'm offering. I've found a 'buy-and-sell' group in/around my 'home' city, so may take some photos and pass along some bargains. Just need to get organized...hahahahahhaha!
    Hugs and love,
