Birthday Boy ..9 !!

Hi Friends!

Back with Thomas's birthday card that is hopefully winging its way to the other side of the world in time for his birthday next month.

He has a current interest in dragons, so with a recently acquired stamp set I set to work. Sad to think it will probably end up in the bin as apparently the kids of today are not sentimental about these things like their grandparents!!

I hope he likes it anyway!

9 where do the years go?...they emigrated just before he was one...8 years ago at the end of this month!

I have to say that children's cards come a very close 2nd to male cards in my list of worst cards to make..lol!

Apologies for the mess on my desk in the background...I had to clear a small space to make this card...and now I have to go an dtidy...no blitz...the craft room.

Time to part with stuff that may come in ! I seem to get less and less cards to make these days and I am never sure if they are appreciated or whether people would prefer a bought one.

Maybe people think making one is a cheap option...but we know differently don't we.

Right thats me for today...must dash and blitz!...well maybe tidy the desk a bit..lol!

Till next time stay safe wherever you are and keep warm and well.

Many thanks for your visits and any comments you leave me...they really do keep me going and are so very much appreciated.

Hugs Carole x

  1. It's a perfect card for your Grandson Carole, I am sure he will love it even if not kept for posterity, your right about that sadly. Male and children's cards come hard for me as well, give me flowers and fairies any day.

  3. I never have to make kids cards thankfully as I wouldn't have a clue where to start! This is a terrific make Carole and I bet he really liked it.
I think some lean towards shop bought ones as if you get them from a certain supermarket they cost about 50p! Not for me - give me a hand made card made with care any day. xx

  4. Hi Carole, a fun birthday card for your grandson's 9th birthday, I love the dragon. I was asked many years ago to make the dragon from the movie how to train your dragon. The child slept with the card and took it to school, maybe some appreciate them... my desk looks much worse than yours, I have been scrap busting.... have a wonderful week.. Megan

  6. This is such a fabulous dragon card, Carol and I think the dragon will get the better of the knight in this scene lol! I bet Thomas will love it although young children won't realise what care has gone into making it for him. I think we have to make cards for the pleasure it gives us to express our creativity and just hope it strikes a chord with the recipient.
Hope you are enjoying the creative buzz again.

  7. Hi Carole
A great card for the birthday boy. I hope it arrives on time and he has a really happy birthday. I wouldn't have known from this lovely creation that you struggle with male/children's cards. You have created a really fun scene and your colour choices are gorgeous.
I think we are probably all guilty of crafting within a tiny little space on our desk surrounded by all the craft goodies we get out "just in case they go on the creation we are working on" LOL""
    Take care.
    Love and hugs

  8. A fab card for your grandson. I'm sure he'll love it. I expect most of our handmade cards get thrown away . . . but at least you have the satisfaction of a) being creative while making the card and b) knowing it will be unique and was made with love.

  10. I know what you mean about the card ending up in the bin, Carole. That was the way with my grandsons, too, but I still enjoyed the process of making them and sharing them online with my friends. I think you made a cool dragon design and perhaps you've given someone inspiration! I hope you're doing well! Hugs, Darnell
