Hi Everyone!
How are you doing?
I haven't had much chance to craft as the Ballroom Craft room Blitz has started and it's going to be a looooong slow process! (some of you may remember that song)
So here are two cards I made last year that never got posted and as Valentines day is looming they are for all the sad hearts out there....remembering those we love but have lost.
This one is a Stamps by me folder..the lily that is, and the background is that age old swiss dots embossing folder...remember that one? I bet you all have that one in your stash. It was one of the first embossing folders I bought!
Coloured as the above one but no sentiment added till needed. (which I hope will not be for a long time)
I hope you are all safe and well..and warm..wherever you may be. The weather seems to be all to pot all over the world and my heart goes out to people who are losing everything in storms, floods etc.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment as I know I am a sporadic blogger....but better than not at all..... and your love and support is what keeps me going, and is so much appreciated.
Till next time
Take care..keep safe and be kind to one another.
Love Carole xx
When you mentioned that song before I had to go check as it didn't ring any bells, odd as I remember Sweet and was certainly into rock mid/late 60's onwards, still a big Queen fan and also loved The Who and Rod - didn't realise till the other day he's 80 now and has another tour planned, aging myself here I know.
ReplyDeleteBack to your cards Carol, both are a delight and so very elegant. Try as I have many times, just can't achieve that soft and delicate finish with embossing folders.
I do however remember and still have Swiss Dots, when it was launched it was night on impossible to find it, even the company I worked for all that time ago wasn't able to get stock. I did eventually by a surprising route, I mentioned on my blog and a lady from a village in this area messaged to say she had two, did I want the other. We met up in a garden centre and did the swap, looking back it seemed like a clandestine arrangement, heavens know why.
Ok enough of my waffle, hope the de-clutter is soon sorted.

Two lovely cards Carole, I love the delicate colours. I still have my Swiss dots folder too, in fact I have two! I somehow broke the hinge on my original one, so bought two more so I had a spare.... just in case. Good luck with the craft room blitz.

I do love the soft colouring on your embossing. It looks so elegant and pretty and perfect for sympathy cards. It is always nice to see you post however sporadically that ends up being. Thanks for your recent visit to me and lovely comment. I am just longing for spring as I try and survive winter without too much depression! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Carole, a pair of lovely cards, love the soft colouring of the flowers, I have still got my swiss dots folder, I never seem to use my embossing folders very much. Good luck on your cleaning mission, I always find things to play with and stop.... Have a wonderful week... Megan
ReplyDeleteI love the soft and delicate colouring on these gorgeous cards, Carole, and the textures from the deep embossing looks so elegant. Good luck with the craft room sort out. I gave mine a do over last year but didn't finish the stamp sorting so I still spend ages finding what I want. On the positive side though, I often find forgotten stamps while I'm browsing.
ReplyDeleteHope you are well,
Hugs

Hi Carole
ReplyDeleteWell I am a bad blogger and a bad blog visitor at the moment and can't believe how long it has taken me to get to visit your lovely blog and see these stunning creations. Please accept my apologies.
Your creations certainly never disappoint, and these are gorgeous. You ink blend beautifully and with such gentle touch.
I think that Swiss Dots was one of my first embossing folders .. .. and it is still going strong.
Well done on starting the craft room blitz (and yes I do remember Ballroom Blitz!).
Love and hugs
Jules xoxo
You have such a steady fine hand to apply just the right amount of color to your blooms, Carole! These are gorgeous and I like how you double-embossed your second card! And, me, too, about the swiss dots e/f! One of my first and I still have it. It's cool that you gave yours some love in this way! I hope you (and the Blitz) are doing well! Hugs, Darnell
