Poppies

Good Morning friends!
Well here we are on the last but one day of February!(just) Another year hurtling past way too quickly!
Firstly welcome to Babs my latest follower,I hope you drop in often and like what you see and maybe have a laugh too!

I've been sorting my 'snippets' boxes this week....yes I know sad isn't it, but it gave me chance to remind myself what there is lurking...didn't throw much out...and I have three boxes....yes three! but to be fair one is a big old toy box for the big pieces, the second is an A4 box for medium bits and the third a small A5 for the tiny bits!! I think the smallest bit I have is one inch square!...well you never know they may come in one day. All neat and tidy now (well the big one anyway).

While sorting I uncovered this already die cut frame on a piece of white linen card...it's a stitched edge so I figure it belongs to a Sue Wilson die...lovely shape, and then I found this beautiful poppy picture...and yes a card was born with the addition of a piece of 'Hunkydory Adorable Scorable in a very pale green for the base card..I have resisted glittering the image as it is so beautiful on it's own and I didn't know whether to add a sentiment or not...it's 'or not' at present as you can see. Let me know what you think.
Left it flat for posting.

So even though I feel I haven't really created much here, I have used up some pieces that have been lurking a good while and that is satisfying. I think I will pop to the playground with this one, I haven't used any snippets recently and am missing my friends there...it's just not the same looking through the railings!

Hope you are all well and having a good week. Thank you so much for popping by and for all the lovely comments you leave me.

Now need to find my wellies as I think there might be a few puddles in the Playground and I feel rebellious!

Ta Ra for now...or see you there!
Hugs
Carole xx

  1. This card is absolutely beautiful. Two of my favourite things are Poppies and butterflies, so this one is just perfect for me. I also have lots of bits and pieces, just in case lol :) crafty hugs, Sandra x

  2. Well done for having a sort out, at least you know what you're hoarding now! You've created a beautiful card and I probably agree about leaving the sentiment off. A summery card for this gloomy weather.

  5. Congrats on doing some snippet sorting and then finding this beauty to make into a card.

Well now, if you're feeling rebellious, come see me round the back of the bike sheds for a hot toddy to warm you up with, once you've finished puddle jumping of course!

  10. That pretty frame is perfect for the lovely poppies Carol and how great that all the makings were waiting for you! I'm on the fence about a sentiment too - maybe when you come to use it, you'll be able to decide. I always think it is good to have some cards on hand to just write a note in.

  11. This is gorgeous. Not sure about the sentiment - think I would leave this one blank as an any occasion.

Must have a visit to this playground you talk of, but I don't have any wellies!!

  12. I have bit boxes too, full of bits from years and years of not being able to throw anything away just like you. It's so satisfying to use some of them, your frame and poppies were good finds and they've made a lovely card

  13. I agree, time is moving along at warp speed! Mid-March...already! Great to know I'm in excellent company in being a snippets saver, although mine are tossed into a shallow box, left all willy-nilly until a sorting frenzy hits. Different sized boxes for different sized pieces sounds far more organized! Yes, those wee bits come in handy for small dies or simply practice pieces. Your find of the frame and poppies is like a wee lottery win! Unexpected and wonderful! Leaving the poppies as they are - no twinkle or sentiment - is perfect! A gorgeous note card for any occasion!
