double it...add 10........divide by 2...multiply by 6.......OH!....Hi there!
..........well that's January almost put to bed...and so another year is rattling past.
Visiting blogland I see you all are experiencing the same.....speed of time and lack of mojo...maybe there is a 'mojo party' somewhere that we all need to join in!!
Well I have managed a card this week...and I struggled I have to admit...a 70th for a male.....here it is.......
Sorry about the poor photo but the light is poor here today, wet and grey and downright miserable really.
This card was not as easy as it first looks and I have to admit to CASING it from pinterest. This is the cased card...I am not sure of it's origin but 'Thank you' to whoever made it for the inspiration....great idea.
The numbers are actually cut out of the top layer which is mounted on foam for depth...I know in the photo they can look as though they are stuck on, which is another way of doing it I guess.
The fiddly bit is putting all the centre bits back in on foam...like in the 4 and 8, 6 and 9.....for me the jury is out on this one.
Anyway I am popping over to the last week of Darnells NBUS challenge...too late for week two (casing) and sorry no sign of bubble wrap here but the numbers I used are on their first outing ...they were free with magazine...and Santa brought me a Gemini machine...and yes this was my first cut on my pristine plates!!...so that's new too!
Thanks for popping in and brightening my day....and if you have left me a comment thanks again, I love to read them all and it reminds me of the lovely bunch of friends that I have in blogland.
Take care, keep warm and well and see you soon.
hugs
Carole xx

Darnells NBUS #10 week 3................new number dies and new die cutting machine
Ah, that is a very good idea for a number card (Cased or not). The first time I looked they look raised but now they look cut out. Curiouser and curouiser. Anyway, I like it.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great Carole. It's a clever idea that would work for any age. I can see how it could be tricky. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteso great!
ReplyDeleteLove them and very effective. If I understand what you found fiddly was getting the numbers into the aperture. Could you glue the number to a small piece of card and then push the number in place and glue the piece of card in place. Just thought you would have a bit more to hold, rather than a little floppy number. Hugs, Carol S.xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to make a milestone birthday card.
ReplyDeleteIt's brilliant! The weather here has been so dull too ... Today I have nothing to photograph and the weather is fine!
ReplyDeleteLove the card Sis, it's so different... good luck with the challenge.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sis xxxx
I love these cards Carole. I think it's fabulous the way that you've made the age number stand out so beautifully at the bottom of your cards. This is definitely something that I'll be trying in future, so thank you for the inspiration. I know what you mean about missing mojo. If you find out where the party is, just let me know ;) Crafty hugs, Sandra x
ReplyDeleteYay for christening your Gemini Carole - I love mine but I haven't been conscientious about flipping and turning my plates and I need a new cutting plate after just a couple of months so I'll be more careful with the next one. I think this is a perfect card for the occasion and I hope he appreciates how you had to fiddle with the little bits for his pleasure lol! It's been grey and drizzly here all week too, and I'm ready for some more sunshine.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Hugs
Carol
This is fabulous Carole, definitely an idea worth copying - I get so much inspiration from Pinterest but it's easy to lose a few hours on there!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend

I've done a similar card and I agree, it's not as easy as it looks, Carole! You did a great job of it and a wonderful CASE of the Pinterest card! It's perfect for a manly card! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #10! I hope your Mr. Mojo comes home soon!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteYour tumbling numbers are such fun and yes, those re-inserting those fiddly bits can be a pain! Hopefully your efforts and creativity will be appreciated by the fellow receiving it. Manly marvelous, in my world! Missing mojo? Mine too! Bet they're holidaying together somewhere...
