Hi Everyone! Yes its me! I'm so sorry I have been such a bad blogger but I have been on a trip.....
to.................................
Brisbane - Australia.!..( this is the bridge in Brisbane)...............................and........
Sydney!
Yes I eventually made it to see the family in Brisbane and spent three weeks with them and then a few days in Sydney before flying home.
I never would have made it without the company of a crafty friend of mine (she knows who she is if she reads this) who was going out to visit her brother, so I bit the bullet and she flew with me to Brisbane and then she flew on to Melbourne. We then met up in Sydney after the three weeks, had a bit of girl time shopping and viewing the Opera house and the bridge in Sydney and then the long flight back home!
I have made some wonderful memories and the month went so quickly, too quickly from my point of view. It was so lovely to get to know my Grandchildren a bit and see where the family live, and of course to spend precious time with them all.
The weather was a bit mixed and in Sydney it was grey and rained at some point each day, but we tried not to let it spoil things...they are heading for winter after all. It was still about 28 degrees and quite humid.
Yes I went all that way and in the UK they had a heat wave!!!
I managed to spend a bit of time crafting with the children, as long as their attention span let me and I took them some mini dies and a Crafters Companion mini die cutting machine.
It was Grandad's birthday (Nicole's dad) while I was there so I set Thomas and Chloe to making cards for him......here are the results.....
Chloe ( Just 7yrs) made this one and drew the koala and trees herself
So as the proud grandma I think they did extremely well.
That is why I have been absent so long, with the addition of life in general, medical appointments and trying to catch up with things since I came home.
Moving forward I shall still be blogging sporadically as I try desperately to find my mojo and fight my way through too much stuff in the craft room. Time to say goodbye to Sugarcraft and other bits so if anyone decorates cakes and is interested in cutters etc let me know via email . I have quite a lot of Patchwork Cutters.
Right folks, have you finished that cuppa? I've' finished mine so time to crack on.
I hope to peep at your blogs as time permits and to see you again soon.
Thank you for sticking with me if you have read this and please leave a comment so I know you have been.
Crafty hugs till next time.

Oh, Carol, I'm so glad you've been absent because you have been gadding around the planet and not been ill! What a fantastic trip to make, and it sounds like you had a wonderful time. The Grandkiddos have inherited some of your talent, and I bet their Grandad loved these cards. Good luck with the decluttering, and I hope your mia mojo makes a return soon.
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Hugs

What a wonderful experience for you Carol, a real trip of a lifetime and so nice you had company as it's such a long journey. I am sure you will treasure those special memories and when you have phone/video chats with them all you'll have so much to talk about.

Glad you got your post up, Carole, and I hope it has schparked you now to get in that craft room! I just love the photos, especially of the excellent cards the kids made! It was so cool that you thought to bring goodies with you to play with. Your granddaughter is quite the koala artist and I'm sure their maternal grandpa will treasure his cards! Take care of yourself! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteHappy to see a wonderful post from you, Carole! Wonderful photos and how great that you had an awesome trip! Those cards are just too cute! Take care, hugs!!
ReplyDeleteHi Carole, glad you made the trek down under, looks like your grandchildren had a lovely time creating cards with you. I hope you managed to walk or ride a train across the harbour bridge, you must have been here during our flooding event, today we have an east coast low, Sydney has had over 200mm of rain over the last two days. Be glad you got to see the Opera house in all her glory; they have removed some of the stairs for maintenance! Have a wonderful week... Megan
ReplyDeleteHi Carole
ReplyDeleteApologies for being late to your post .. .. life has been a bit manic at my end (as per usual) and I am only just managing to catch up .. .. and very slowly too!
I was so happy to read about your "great escape". It must have been so lovely to see in person where your son and his family live .. .. and to spend time with your precious grandchildren. It looks like they enjoyed playing with the crafty goodies you took along with you.
I am sure you will have made some super special memories and I am so happy for you.
Love and hugs

p.s. fabby photographs by the way and good luck sorting the craft room and parting with your Sugarcraft equipment. It is so hard to part with things we have had so much pleasure from using in the past .. .. but on the good side it does make room for more relevant new craft goodies.
