Hi Friends
Here at last!
There seems to be an abundance of big Birthdays on my list this year...and this is the first one for a friend of mine.
No prizes for guessing the age!
All products used are from Crafters Companion. The butterflies were cut from a pad of acetate ones and then stuck to paper I had coloured with water pens, then a liberal dusting of glamour dust. I did try to colour the acetate, but that didn't work.
It's a while since I made one of these cards but they pack the wow factor, especially to a non crafter.
Speaking of Crafters Companion...I find it disappointing after all this time that they have introduced £3.95 postage charges for members of their scheme unless you spend a minimum of £20 for Gold and Platinum and £30 for Bronze and Silver members. It literally takes away any discount and means it becomes very expensive to buy a bargain, as the postage costs as much again! Does anyone else feel the same? I am definitely cutting back this year, due to this and also wanting to reduce my over flowing craft room somewhat. Unless you are buying big there is little to be gained I feel.
I hope you are all keeping well and warm here in the UK as we have had a return to winter, freezing temperatures and that white stuff we thought we had got away without. Roll on Spring which has supposed to have started!
Good that we alter the clocks soon and have lighter nights to look forward to.
Catch you again soon my friends
Crafty hugs and thank you for stopping by, your visits and comments are always very much appreciated.
Take care.
Carole
Yes Carole, I feel just the same about postage costs. I don't use CC but it's the same story with many craft stores. As a Hochanda member I had free P&P and with the 10% member discount bought quite a lot from them. Just renewed and seems since they merged with Create and Craft free P&P disappeared.
ReplyDeleteAnyhows, your pop up box is a delight and I am sure you fried will love the dancing flowers and Butterflies.

Fabulous Pop Up Box Card, Carole. I'm not a member of the Crafters Companion scheme but I agree, it does sound like the postage costs take away any discount on purchases. I'm fortunate to be near enough to visit one of their store occasionally and usually come out with several bargains. xx
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card and and this design definately has the wow factor. I agree with you with regards to the membership issue and used to purchase a lot from them. Like many crafters, I have cut down over the last few years on what I buy now. Michelle x
ReplyDeleteFabulous box card Carole, they definitely do pack a punch and make a great gift on a special birthday. I agree re our spring, what has happened to it? It is too cold to be in the garden and there is so much to do there. Anyway, I suppose the cold has given me more time in the craft room. I do try to resist all the offers and hype over products from all the Companies these days, but it is not always easy. I have never joined any of the clubs because I would just be overwhelmed really quickly. Wouldn't even have a magazine subscription for that reason. Happy Saturday xx
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing! You do such great work!
ReplyDeleteWow! this is beautiful Carole xx
ReplyDeleteWow, Carole - this fabulous creation really does have the wow factor and the lucky recipient will be thrilled to open this! I have that same birthday looming later this year, which feels ridiculous 'cos inside I'm still thinking of what I'll do when I grow up lol!
ReplyDeleteI agree about postage costs getting out of hand. I know a lot of our friends have decided to do E greeting cards for next Christmas because the postage adds up to such a large amount.
Hope you are well and keeping warm.
Hugs

Wow a fabulous card. Nice to have a special occasion to go to town on a card. Love the colours. Definitely looking forward to a few warmer days here. x
ReplyDeleteI am inventing a big birthday....
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely lush my friend! A gorgeous card. x
Hi Carole, a fabulous card for a big birthday celebration, I think non crafters are surprised at what some of us make, I did a box card with city skyline and reindeer flying across.... heatwave here in Australia, currently 38C outside. Have a wonderful week... Megan
ReplyDeleteI’m late to the party Carole - but this card is a stunner. Definitely worth making for a special birthday. I’m sure the recipient loved it.
ReplyDeleteI’m not a CC member - but I can quite understand where you’re coming from re the postage -vs- discount issue. Like many of the crafters commenting above, I’ve cut back over the last couple of years, not least as my craft storage is full!!!! Xxx
Gorgeous box card filled with beautiful flowers!! How fun to celebrate a 70th birthday with the amazing card from a friend!!
ReplyDeleteI love the pop-up flowers. My Mother-in-Law would love a card like this. Very, very fun.
