Happy news!

Hi everyone.....I've decided to share a card that I made a couple of weeks ago, not a lot of mojo and I am still unsure about it...but here it is....

My eldest son and partner were the recipients of this...a bit of happy news amid all the rubbish news of late.

I think it is all the white that puts me off...though I do like CAS cards and when other people do them they always look so good.

I think it is a memory box die..one I have had for ages....it cuts the outline and then all the bits fall out...hence the paper piecing. I threw in a few sequins to try to add some sparkle and used one of the new sentiments from Crafters Companion.

As I have used snippets for all but the base card I am going to visit the Playground and see if there is anyone left that I know...might make some new friends too!....that all depends of course if I can do the linky it is that long since I joined in...and new blogger to add to the mix too! I might still be here at midnight trying to sort it!..lol

Thank you for popping by and always many thanks for your lovely comments. Take care my friends...hope is on the horizon with this vaccine....but until it is freely available be sure to follow those guidelines and stay safe and well.

Love Carole xx

  1. Well big congratulations to your son and his girlfriend on their engagement... how nice to receive happy news amongst all the doom and gloom. Now you know what I'm gonna say... I LOVE that white space and the two tone paper pieced hearts. I don't know why you're unsure, it's a lovely card for a lovely occasion. I do hope you're keeping well and that each day you'll heal a little bit more. Big hugs x

Ink spattering on the white may make you feel a bit better but I like it as it is! xx

  3. Hi Carole - delighted you came to play. We're all here waiting to hug you, there's a queue! Your link didn't work first time but I went into the workings of Mr Linky, slapped his wrists and edited your entry and it's working fine now! What a lovely card this is - I love that die (have a feeling I have it as well, probably pinched the idea from you to be honest. Congratulations to the happy couple - how lovely to have some happy news to celebrate.

Lots of love, and a licky doggy kiss from Dudley!

  6. You know how much I love all that white space, Carole, so your card is a stunner to me! That lineup of hearts and a bit of schparkle are just the perfect impactful and joyful design for the happy couple! Congratulations to them! Good job using snippets, too, and it's great to have you back in the Playground. Once this madness is over and we are all safe again, we should go back to exchanging beads and drinking behind the bike shed like we used to do! Keep well, my friend. Hugs, Darnell
