Tower Bridge

Here I am at last with a card to share. I have to say I struggled with this and several attempts saw the bin.

I really can't take credit for the design as it is a CASE of one Jenny Mayes (HobbyArt) did on the telly that prompted me to buy the stamp. She made it look so easy!

It was to post to Australia for my sons birthday and fortunately it only took 3 weeks to arrive...the day before his birthday. So much better than Chloes' card that took 3 months to get there!

So now I can share with you......this lovely stamp reminded me so much of a wonderful day we spent in London with them before they emigrated. We visited Tower Bridge...did the tourist bit of it...yes glass floor as well!...eek! and when we came out we were greeted with the bridge opening...bonus!

A pretty poor attempt at a bit of watercoloring but the best of a bad lot!..lol

Thank you so much for all the kind comments you have left me on my last post. It cheers me to think of the wonderful friends that I have in blogland....such a lovely lot you are.

I do hope you are managing to stay well and safe as this wretched year hurtles past us. Lets hope 2021 heralds the hope of better things to come.

Till next time...take care everyone.

Love Carole xx

  1. A fabulous card Carole and what a wonderful reminder of your day in London. I think you you’ve done a great job. Yes, let’s hope for a brighter year to come. A good friend of mine has both of her sons living out in Australia and she’s just become a Nanna for the first time. She’d been looking forward to visiting them at Christmas but is now hoping that she’ll be able to go out at some point next year. Like you, video calls make such a difference. Take care of yourself and stay safe xx

  2. Hi Carole

What a super special card .. .. and so full of lovely memories of time spent with your son and his family. It is like that stamp was produced especially for you. I bet he loved it and remembered all those special memories too.

Nothing wrong with your watercolouring at all. I love everything about this card.

Hope you are OK and your weekend is going well.

  4. Hey you, nice to see you post a card. I hope as time moves forward you're healing a little bit each day, big virtual ( hugs ). I think you're a little too hard on yourself as I love your artsy watercolouring, its like a card you buy from those rather expensive garden centre gift shops. It's also nice to incorporate a special day out on a card, very personal to all of you. Take care and until next time Carole x

  5. Jenny does make it look so effortless doesn't she, but I think you have really done the image proud Carole, it's one of those that needs to be allowed to shine as it's such an iconic structure.

It's so nice to see you posting as I have thought about you so many times since your last post, very much brought home when a friend, one of our DIL's Dad's died very suddenly in early September. And in these awful Global times everything seems compounded.

Stay safe and if you ever need to talk and just let off steam I'm at the end of an e.mail.

  6. You popped into my head this morning, Carole, while making coffee and I was set to email you, but thought I'd check your blog first. It's wonderful to see you here! I'm sorry I missed your last post and I love the personalized card for your friend who loves knitting and has a joint that is knitting itself back together after her op! This one for your son is also personalized because of the wonderful memory you share of your visit to the Tower Bridge before they left. Very thoughtful and beautiful!

I send you big virtual hugs and hope you are doing as well as can be expected after such a shock. Take care of yourself, please, and keep in touch! Love, Darnell

  10. You sneaked this one in Carole!! I must have had my eyes shut!! Brilliant card and will bring his mind back to your visit there. Takes me back to my 20 odd years I lived there.
Jenny used to live nearby the Craft shop in Surrey, where I was tutor. She used come into the shop when we had our special weekends on and she would have a stand to sell her stamps etc.
Glad to see you are getting a bit of crafting in.
Stay safe and well. Big hugs, Carol S.xxxx
