'Happy April Fool'

Happy April Fool!....can you say that? well I've said it.

Who thought that when we all said Happy New Year 3 months ago this is where we would be today! ...but.....life is full of challenges..(.plenty in blogland too..lol) and we all moan that time passes quickly so I am looking forward to the day when I can say...Do you remember when?

I have to admit to having a distinct lack of motivation at present on the crafting front . I have made one or two cards well in advance this year so I wasn't at the last minute...I know by now I should have reached the end of next year with my planned cards but ...I haven't!...and thus having planed I would have more time to play.....that hasn't worked either......life threw us all the same challenge didn't it! ...which we are all facing and attacking in different ways as we do when we make cards for a challenge...we all interpret and create differently...but the end result meets the same challenge. So we will all meet this world challenge and get through it...so stay safe and well...and then we can ALL say 'Do you remember when?'...in due course.

OK sermon over and if you haven't switched off...(like you do with the news after a while.) I have a card to share that has now been received and appreciated.......

It's a Studio light stamp..a collage effect so the work is all done for the stamped background...it's called Stand Tall...can you guess why?
The inking was done with distress inks but I never think to make a note of the colours I use till it's too late...sorry. I stamped it twice so I could fussy cut the flower...colouring only the stem and leaves and layering over the top, and added the Happy Birthday sentiment from Uniko.

I guess you have spent enough time reading my ramblings so till next time the message as always is stay safe and well...and be kind to yourself and each other.....

Thanks for stopping by and the comments you all so kindly leave.

Love and lots of crafty hugs
Carole xx

P.S. Mum loved her card which I actually took a week early (glad I did now) and was more taken with the butterfly than anything else!

  4. Oh pretty card, nice how the stamp does the background. I like how you coloured and added dimension on the flower. News is banned in my house on the tv, they can Google what they want to know. I think the world needs some optimism from it's leaders... Stay safe x

  5. A gorgeous background Carole and love the colour mix. The flower is beautiful and the whole card is stunning.
I love reading your blog and it always make me smile. I too sometimes write a lot and I am sure that they are not really read right through!! But I do enjoy reading them. I find my Mojo is all over the place. I have about 8 items on my desk part done or waiting to be started! So I ignore all of them and start a whole new project. Today was like that and I made my sister's birthday card, which isn't needed until 18th of this month!! Big hugs and love, Carol S.xxx

  9. Well said, Carole! It certainly is something that affects us all equally and perhaps we will end up being a better, nicer world when it's all over. I love your long tall card with fabulous imagery! And I scrolled back to look at your Mum's card which I missed and can only say, WOW ten times over! It is stunning! (So cute that she loved the butterfly most!) Take care and stay safe, my friend! Hugs, Darnell

  10. I hear ya, Carole - it is such a strange time and I can't seem to settle to anything at the moment let alone get lost in cardmaking! I love this card thought and it was a genius idea to overlay the gorgeous flower! Glad your Mum like her card.
Hope you are keeping well and I wish you a very Happy Easter.
    Hugs

  11. Hello there, this is stunning, love the 'arty' feel. I just scrolled down too, my you have been busy! Aren't these strange times, who would have thought all this would happen. I am very lucky and been working from home, but it's very odd, I'm missing all the chat from my workmates. I've just ordered some wool, haven't knitted for many years but I have a notion. Going to start with a dog coat - we'll see how that goes!!
Hope your Easter is the best it can be, take care
