Thanks with a Comma!

Good Evening friends!
Just popping in to share a 'Thank You' hasn't photographed well...must be the sunshine (don't want to complain about that though!)

This is 'Buffalo Plaid background' from Whimsy stamps (a big stamp) embossed with Honey Doo 'white white' EP and then Oxides blended over the top......namely Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers.
The 'thanks' was cut twice and glued together and the whole panel mounted on foam pads on a 7 x 7 inch base card.
Inking the stamp to get a good embossed result (even with Versamark)  took 3 attempts. The final attempt I just laid the stamp upside down on my glass mat and placed the card on top, pressing hard all over...success!

Well I can't believe we are in the last week of March..can you?.....where oh where is the year going? I really wish life would slow down a bit, but no chance of that here in the Dixon household as hubby retires on Friday...eek! He has a list of jobs that will no doubt require my I see less 'me' time and more 'us' time...... the company will be nice (for a while) though   :)

Thanking you for stopping by in your busy lives and for leaving me love in the form of a comment if you have the time. I appreciate them all as you well know.

Finally a photo of a very pretty butterfly that I took last week in a car park. Apparently a 'comma' butterfly...(flying in to help with my I can't say I have seen one of these before...and there were two actually...such a vivid orange. Apparently a white comma shaped mark on the underside of its' wing is what gives it its name. ,,,,,,every day is a school day folks!

Have a good evening and rest of the week...take care till I see you again...
Crafty hugs

  1. What a lovely background stamp, looks great embossed in white. Super card, Carole. xx

  2. A brilliant CAS card Carole. Love the colours and design. My hubby retired 3 years ago and has no hobbies at all!! I have got a friend who is in the similar situation, so we try and get a girly day out a couple of times every month!! We call them our escape days!! He does come to the craft fairs with me too. Without them I would go insane!! I do love my own company, so he goes to bed around 11ish and I go around 2.30 am!! Heaven!! Enjoy! Hugs, Carol S.xx

  3. Fabulous card Carole, that is a super background stamp and the colours are lovely. Can't believe how quick this month's gone either. I bet Hubby's counting down the days now and looking forward to retirement xx

  4. What a gorgeous background on your very striking card Carol! Love the colours! And your photograph is beautiful... Hubby retiring? Ummm... It takes some adjusting I can tell you... Mine took over but not in a good way... Fingers crossed you'll both enjoy it! Lol!

  5. A lovely card Carole. I have to agree with you about how quickly the time is passing. My Hubby was made redundant three years ago, so decided to retire at that point. It does take a little adjusting too but it’s great to be able to spend more time together. He’s so much happier these days and I think it could have been a life saver. Wishing you both much happiness x
