Hello friends! How are you doing? I hope you are having a good weekend.
Here is the card I made for a blogging buddy and friend who celebrated a birthday this week. I can now show you her card and I have it on good authority that she liked it...phew!!!
The background stamp is anew acquisition (big word) from Uniko Studio...that I bought at Port Sunlight last weekend, and the sentiment is from another Uniko set as is the Gerbera! I decided to keep it tone on tone and of course out came the Glamour Dust on the Gerbera just to lift it a bit. I kept it all pretty flat for posting.
As the Gerbera was cut from a snippet I will head to the Playground while the sun is still shining and join in the skipping...got to lose some weight somehow ( I wish...yes both lose weight and skip!!!!)
Well it's been a same old , same old week here this past week and another month is hurtling past my ears far quicker than I would like! .....a hint of summer one day this week temperature wise...may be that was it(summer I mean)...I have come to the conclusion summer clothes are really a waste of time...whenever I go on holiday the photos show me wearing the same clothes from 5 years ago!!...lol......solution? no not to buy something different...not have my photo taken instead...cheaper! and I don't like pictures of myself these days either.
I see from blogland that a lot of you have been very productive of late..well done.... there are some truly wonderful creations out there. Thank you so much for visiting me, hugs and special thanks to those who leave me love in the form of a comment...I love to read them.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend...see you soon!
Hugs

Oh Carole, this is such a lovely card! I adore the tone on tone - and had been looking at that same stripes stamps just the other week. Goes so well with the Gerbera doesn't it. I love Uniko stamps - have the full background Happy Birthday plate one waiting in the toy box here for sometime soon!
ReplyDeleteAnd pink - always ticks the boxes for me of course!

Really nice card, like the tone on tone which works really well with the big gerbera.
ReplyDeleteA stunning card and a beautiful design. Love the colours too. Thank you so much for the message you left on my blog re my friend. It still feels quite surreal. Hugs, Carol S.xx
ReplyDeleteHi Carole, I'm loving this card With those fabulous Uniko stamps and the super tone on tone effect. I do rather like Uniko stamps and have just added that super striped background to my wish list.
ReplyDeleteIt's a wet and miserable day here so no sitting outdoors... I suppose I'll just have to do a spot of housework or maybe just a crafty play instead. Take care xx
I was at Port Sunlight too...working on the Dies to Die For stand, so I only had a quick buzz though the hall...at least I didn't spend any more pennies - lol!
ReplyDeleteThis gerbera stamp was a great buy and your card is really stylish...no wonder it got the seal of approval from your friend :-)
Big hugs, Kat xx
Beautiful tone-on-tone stamping and I love the bloom that you chose for your focal point, Carole! Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at Addicted to CAS!

Loving this pretty card the design is gorgeous. Glad I'm not the only one who has the same holiday wardrobe but not much call for strappy clothes or swimwear in the NE so they hardly get any wear. I'm with you just don't take photo or wear a new necklace to change the look Love and hugs Carole x
ReplyDeleteSuch a BEAUTIFUL card for your friend and I can see why she loves it!!! I know what you mean about the months whizzing by .. my goodness .. it's scary how quick time goes!
ReplyDeleteHope you're doing well!
Big hugs,
Elise
So pretty in pink and a lovely CAS design.
ReplyDeletebeautiful design and a super use of the bands of colour
ReplyDeletehugs Kate x
It's a beautiful card for your friend! So soft and pretty!
ReplyDeleteWell I'm like you ... don't like my photo taken now - I mean that camera can really lie! I'm thinking of getting a new one that sees me as I see me haha! And you are right ... Same clothes or ones that only get worn once and just take up room in an already cluttered wardrobe ... Still I'm glad we don't have floods or tornados and 4 seasons ... or maybe 3?
I'm Im not surprised your friend liked her card - its gorgeous! X
ReplyDeleteoooh I love this , not heard of Uniko but I'll need to take a look.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about summer clothes, I drag the same ones out year after year but it seems such a waste to buy more for just a couple of weeks sun!
...as for losing weight, I'd rather skip it's easier ;o)
Have a good weekend

Love the monochromatic colors in pink, Carole! Wish I could send you some sunshine!
ReplyDeleteYour friend will love this..so soft and pretty!I know how you feel....time is flying by WAY too fast!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Hi, just having a catch up. This is very pretty and a bit different too (in a good way!) The gerbera stamp is one I have my eye on and always looks wonderful, I like the contrast with the background. I can see the sparkle. I've just hung out some washing and it started to rain :( so I'd better go and get it in again. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of the monochrome look and this is just lovely Carole. The stripes make a perfect background for the beautiful flower and I'm not surprised that your friend loved it.
ReplyDeleteYes I was at Port Sunlight and I wish you had spoken because it would have been lovely to meet you again. I bet like me, you came home with lots of goodies! I did swear not to buy much because my pile of NBUS is still growing - but I can resist anything except temptation!

Hi Carole, I've been away on holiday so I'm late seeing this beautiful card! I love Gerbera daisies, so I fell in love with this at first glance!! I wish I could have been with you all at Port Sunlight! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteHi Carole, a gorgeous card for your friend .. .. always extra pressure when your work is going to a fellow crafter don't you think? LOL!!(not that there should be).
ReplyDeleteI love the background very much and your colour choice.
