Something fishy!

Good morning friends......I hope you are all well.
It's definitely April showers here...heavy ones with the odd sunny spell and there is still quite a nip in the air. I am really fed up with this rain now and want some warmer weather, the garden is sodden....too wet to dig, the daffodils have finished and I fear several of the perennials in the garden have rotted off with all the wet!!

On to my make this week......another male card.....

The image is a 'Little Claire' stamp that saw ink for the first time. I first coloured some card with three distress inks...broken china, worn lipstick and squeezed lemonade and then stamped on top with archival ink. I added a drop of water to the clouds with a paintbrush and then dabbed to remove the ink. The layers were cut with Sue Wilson Pierced Squares dies. The sentiment comes with the stamp.

I hope you have nice things planned for the upcoming weekend....doing what makes you 'happy'.......sadly not so here...but I am sure hubby will find something to do which will involve the...have you got a minute...phrase! Sound familiar?...........wish I was near enough to go to Ally Pally!!

Thanks for popping in, take care now...

  1. Morning Carole, Sorry to hear all your daffs have now finished. We've got a glorious display at the moment on the bank at the font of our little cottage.

Your card is really beautiful. It's a great image and I really love your blended background. The colours looks gorgeous. What a great sentiment. Don't want to rub it in hehe! but I'm off to Ally Pally with three friends on Saturday and a workshop on Sunday where they always make us eat lots of cake! I wonder if it might actually be a craft overload. Barbxx

  2. I'm with you re Ally Pally. It's the first time for years that I won't be going. That's the down side of moving to Suffolk. Love your card and the image is great and the background is brilliant. Hugs, Carol S.xx

Take no notice of Viv . . . she's always saying things like that to me, and we are still great friends! xxx

  8. Hi Carole! I love the scene you created. It looks so serene and peaceful with that sponged background. I wish I could go fishing, but it's still SO cold here. Opening fishing isn't until May here anyway I guess!

    Have a great day!

  9. Oh my...isn't that sky you've created stunning! Perfect canvas for your silhouette image. Your knack for masculine cards is impressive! Our weather, while not rainy, is not particularly warm yet; had to scrap the windshield of frost before heading to work this morning. And the winds...from 'breeze' to full on gusts anticipated for the next few days. I'm not a fan of 'bluster'...too much dust swirled around that adds to my already dusty home (perhaps someone should catch up on her housework...). April is rushing quickly, isn't it! Hope your flowers survive!

  10. You've made a beautiful sunset and manly scene, Carole! Fantastic coloring!! I hope the rain ends for you soon. We love having it here, where it is rare, but I know that it can get old and plants can get sodden if it's too much of a good thing. Enjoy your day, no matter what the weather! Hugs, Darnell
