'Happy Birthday'

Good evening blogging friends!......a card at last! Thank you for all your kind comments on my helicopter trip.....it feels like I dream't it now.

OK on with the card...... this has taken me all week on and of...more off than on probably, but I started well and then it just didn't please me when I tried to finish it off. It sat on my desk and I kept going back to it and trying different things, and going back to it.....and so...sound familiar to anyone?

Here is the end result.....

and slightly to the side to see the depth

This is for my mum who is to be 94 in a weeks time.......she so loves watching the birds on the feeder so I thought this was quite suited to her.
It is an 8" x 8" (sorry old school) card and I covered it in a sheet of Craftwork Cards 'Cottage Garden' paper pad, then with another sheet the same I cut out all the four corners of flowers off and mounted them up and the same with bird house. I added a little bird cut from the botanical pad....also Craftwork Cards. Plenty of glamour dust was added for sparkle.
The white flowers (glittered of course) and Happy Birthday are both Memory Box dies and a daisy punch and left over card from the Happy birthday die made the flower..... and the final touch ...the bow.

I hope she likes it...she doesn't view my blog so I can keep it a surprise........so ssshhh don't tell her :)

I am quite pleased with it, I am my own worst critic and I somehow could not find a way to put MUM on the front of the card so that it looked right so I shall be sure to tell her how special she is inside!

Right that's it...hope the sun shines tomorrow, I am well fed up with the wet and cold. What does your weekend have in store for you?  Me?...I am off across the M62 to Bolton...so see you there if you too are going.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing with me and a special thank you to all those people that leave me such lovely comments and as a result keep me blogging.......it is so much appreciated.
Take care my friends and enjoy your weekend.

'Miss Piggy'

Hi Friends....sorry no card to show this time round...I know...... you all thought it was going to be a piggy card didn't you!
I thought I would fill you in on where I was last weekend. I went to London, stayed with youngest son and wife and on the Saturday I had a private charter helicopter trip up the Thames! It was a birthday present from my hubby and boys for that significant birthday last November.
We drove to Redhill Aerodrome in Surrey and ......here is Miss Piggy....nickname of course and you can see why! G-PGGY on the tail! and she was our helicopter for 40 mins...plus pilot of course...Dave...really nice guy!...even fetched me a stool so I could get in her!!

So here we are coming up to the London Eye. It was fabulous weather that weekend...remember?  we had summer I think...so the photos were a little hazy due to the heat and it clouded over too.The Thames sure does snake around a lot.

Just to prove I was in that helicopter

I was allowed two passengers so took hubby and Iain  (as we were staying with him). Andrew the eldest missed out unfortunately but he is going to America shortly and is going to fly over the Grand Canyon instead!!

The boys took all the photos so that I could just enjoy being the co-pilot and take in the views....absolutely fantastic!
There are lots of photos but don't worry I am not going to bore you with them all. You get the gist!
It was a wonderful day and a wonderful experience. I could have stayed up there all day but we would have run out of fuel!
A fabulous birthday present ...Thanks to the three great men in my life.
I am now having to pinch myself that it all really happened, it seems like a dream.

So back down to earth and a wet Bank Holiday weekend....so all a bit flat after the last one. What have you been up to?

Thanks for stopping by and sharing my thrills.
Next time a card.......well its forecast 2 more days of rain so better lock myself in the craft room! Hope the mojo is lurking on a shelf somewhere!

Take care friends till next time

Sympathy

Hi friends...How are all? Good I hope and enjoying this sunshine, although it has clouded up here in West Yorkshire this afternoon.

This is my share today, we just sometimes have to make these cards and send them...Sympathy. I just had to do that this week. I sent the first one...and it didn't arrive...so I made a second one...same design, different colour and sent that. Guess what?....yes they have both arrived, so double the sympathy.

The circle was cut with a Spellbinder die and then coloured with pan pastels. I then stamped the flowers in black Versafine and embossed them in fine a WOW ebony black. the grasses were just stamped (2nd generation)...no embossing. The rest speaks for itself
The stamps are some Craftwork Cards stamps that I have had in my stash for awhile...thought they deserved to see an ink pad!

Here is the second one I made.

I think I prefer the second one! Which do you prefer?

Right lots to do...an exciting weekend to look forward to. More on that next week. Hoe you all have a great weekend whatever it has in store for you, and Thank You for all your lovely comments that you leave and indeed for taking that precious time to stop and take a peek.

Take care

'Alcohol'

Hi friends!
Here it is that elusive male card that I had to do for my son. I have to say that I had a bit if a light bulb moment in the end taking inspiration from this card here by Liz...thank you Liz! I would never have got there without your design idea.

The sentiment - I couldn't resist buying when I saw it, it is so true don't you think? Out came the IndigoBlu wine bottle and I masked off the words on that, and the background stamp was in my stash...un-inked, so that has made it's debut.A bit of matting and layering and pricking....sounds so quick but boy what with all the thinking time ....it took forever. Anyway I am pleased with the result and so was my son!

Hope the Bank Holiday went well for you all....not long until the next one!........I am a day behind again this week...they sure throw you out of sync.

For those of you that read in an earlier post about my sorting of the craft room....well yippee it's done!....and now of course I can't find anything as some things have moved place! I have re-acquainted myself with a lot of stuff, frightened myself silly really the amount in there, and I have parted company with a few bits...just a few...well they might come in !

Looking forward to Saturday and the LOTV 10th Birthday Party and hopefully meeting up with some blogging buddies! and no doubt parting with a bit more cash for lovely things that will then need a home!.........you know that tidy sorted craft room........!!

Thanks for stopping by and an extra thanks to those who are kind enough to leave me a comment and make my day!
Take care friends

Smile Please!

Hi blogging friends.......... Smile please it's a Bank Holiday weekend! and at this point I wish you all  a good one. Lets hope the weather is kind to us all.
OK on with the card......smile please, another male card, quite quick and easy........and if you read my last post I am still on with said sons card and fast running out of time, the inspiration is just not there :(    just taking a few minutes out and a cuppa to do this post. I often find I see things better if I walk away for a while and come back to them...here's hoping eh!

The camera is my Dreamies stamp and I used Diamond Glaze on the lens but it doesn't show in the photo. The film strip is from the same stamp set and I stamped it on acetate...... the rest is from my stash...yeah I have used some up! I used Kraft card for my card blank and matting for a change, and quite like it.
Right well I had better get back to that other male card and see if I can convince myself not to be too much of a perfectionist. I'll be giving it to him tomorrow night as we are going out for a meal so best get a move on!
I'll show you next week...if I like it that is!

Take care everyone and thanks so much for stopping by, I do appreciate you doing so and you make my day if you leave me a comment.

Hugs
