Hello fellow crafters!..........Rabbits you ask?....nothing to do with rabbits, but it is the first of the month, and the month contains the letter R, and as a little girl I was always told you had to say 'Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits' on the first day of the month containing an 'R' in it's name. So there we have it!...........your useless information for the day.
So to crafting...and hoping I find you all well and dandy as we hurtle way too fast towards Christmas.
It's a birthday card today...not a Christmas card in sight...literally! (note to self..fast running out of time) Even the extra hour last weekend saw no more crafting time. Where do I go wrong?
Here it is......
We made one similar at our card workshop a bit back and I liked it so much I just had to buy the stamp and case the card and so I made some more in different colours. The stamp is by Julie Hickey and has just the one flower, so the second is fussy cut and layered up. All this is paper pieced.
It's turned a lot colder here now and the long dark nights are beginning...how I HATE this time of year. the Vit D drops are out again, the woolies, vests and boots hot on their heels!..ugh ...but we have had a good summer and Autumn...fingers crossed for a lovely spring next year.
Enjoy your weekend.
Crafty hugs

I'm with you on this time of year Carole, dislike it with a passion!
ReplyDeleteIt's an extremely pretty card and very effective with the extra decoupaged flower.
Pinch punch.........

Carole, your flowers are gorgeous, sporting their pink petals and bling centers! Smiling brightly in seeing this gem!
ReplyDeleteCooler weather and longer nights happening here, too. I've had my woolies out for a while, but I think 'adding more' is definitely on the radar! Hoping that the snow will stay away for a good long while, especially since it made an appearance - and an extended stay - in early October!
Christmas card-making...ACK! I'm so far behind it's not even funny! Need to get a move on!
hugs~carol
So I am smug cos I have made 4 Christmas cards....
ReplyDeleteGreat card - and we have lashing rain at the min which probably is moving your way - unless you've already had it and sent it across the Pennines! x
What a gorgeous card. Love all the dotty detail and pink and green are always good. Very clean and pretty. Thermal vest is out here, I'm not keen on the end of summer and being cold either though autumn looks lovely! Now go and get on with those Christmas cards! 😃
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Carole and the stamp is so pretty. Freezing here too but the sun is peeping his head out today xx
ReplyDeleteCute birthday card! I love the stitching and the center of the blooms. Our weather is quite nice for fall today, but snow flurries are headed our way in a few days. Time to stay in and craft!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the stamp and a beautiful card. Must have a go at paper piecing. A beautiful sunny but cold day here today. Yesterday it rained from when I got up until bedtime at 2.30am! I don't like short days, long nights and the cold wet days! Have a lovely weekend and get making your Christmas cards!! Lol!! Hugs, Carol S.xx
ReplyDeleteI had to smile at this Carole. I think we come from the same part of the world and we used to have to say White Rabbits’ three times on the first of the month. A lot of these old wives tales are disappearing, so it brought back a memory for me when I read this post. Your card is beautiful and I love those flowers, great colour combo too x
ReplyDeleteOh my, I haven't heard anyone says Rabbits Rabbits Rabbits for years. It's so much better than pinch punch, thank you for the reminder. 1st of December will definitely be Rabbits. Anyway your card is very pretty and the paper piecing looks brilliant as well as the colours you've chosen x
ReplyDeleteI can see why you wanted to recreate this card Carole - it is gorgeous and I love that pretty flower. I'm with you about getting the woollies out and I wish you could get heated clothes because I seem to feel the cold much more these days.
ReplyDeleteRabbit, rabbit, rabbit five days late, Carole! I'm sorry the dreary dark and cold days of winter are fast approaching, but you've brightened everyone's thoughts with this pretty floral card! I love the paper piecing and the way your design doubled up the flower for even more visual delight!! ❤Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteYep, winter woolies are being worn again... I'm sure I was meant to hibernate. Fabulous birthday card Carole! I don't paper piece enough.. I love the look!
ReplyDeletePretty birthday card! Love how you added the second flower and the pretty gems in the middle. I have never heard of saying "Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits!" Is it said for luck?
ReplyDeleteHi Carole
ReplyDeleteA truly beautiful card .. .. I love it!! The script behind the flowers sets everything off so nicely.
Great colour choices too.
Hope all is good at your end. Sorry for being a stranger.
Love Jules xx
This is really nice Carole, I love how you've added the extra flower - what a great idea for getting more out of your stamps.
ReplyDeleteAs long as it's not grey and drizzly I don't mind this time of year, I love getting wrapped up and warm and cosy in front of the fire when it's cold!
