Santa Claus is coming to town!

Hi everyone......oh so good of you to stop by...hic...that's the sherry...shall I pour you one?..lol

Last shares today...two cards on a similar vein, take a look....oh and a cake

The Santa's are from Clearly Besotted as is the sentiment. I am looking forward to Stephanie resuming her shop in the new year as I really like her stamps.

The sentiment is one that I wish to each and every one of you who reads my blog. Thank you so much to those followers and people that leave comments. I love to read them and I feel I have made so many lovely friends through my blog and the power of the internet.
I hope 2017 will see us all carrying on supporting each others wonderful and diverse creative talents.

Now for some cake..............sorry can't cut it yet......actually it's my cheats cake this year as I said before, I have bought the decoration instead of making my own this year. I decided ...no-one is that bothered,so I made smaller cake as it never seems to get cut till New year as everyone is too full after Christmas dinner, and so hubby and I are still eating it at Easter! .......and we wonder why we put on weight ! The fruit cake though has been baked since August!

Well I am all ready now bar the cooking and shouting!! This year will be a Christmas of mixed emotions for us. Happy that we have a special little Grandson Thomas to join us. He is now 10 months old and almost walking!, and I always think Christmas is so special for children although Thomas is a little too young yet to appreciate it all of course...............and Sad in the knowledge that come the end of January sees my son Iain , Nicole and Thomas head for warmer climes to start a new phase of their lives. Nicole is from Australia and wishes to bring Thomas up out there, her family is out there of course too, so our loss will be their gain. Hubby and I wish them well of course but we are going to miss them so very much........so got to make the most of spoiling Thomas this Christmas!!

I wish all my lovely followers a very Happy Christmas whatever you are doing and wherever you are in the world, and may 2017 bring to you and your families, good health and much happiness.

Now more sherry and a mince pie anyone?............oh you have to go...OK.....bye then...see you later. Travel safely.....

Crafty hugs
Love
Carole xx

P.S. Does anyone really still drink sherry these days?

  1. Hi Carole - I know one of those cards! :) Love both of them and your cake looks fabulous too! Sherry? Not had it for years to be honest - but it used to be a pre-dinner tipple I recall.

Have a lovely Christmas - you're further ahead then I am - although I'm close enough to being done to just stop and leave the little odds and ends I'd like to do!

    Hugs

    Di xx

  2. Yes, I'll have one, thank you very much. I've had my first mince pie and my daughter is home so starting to feel Christmassy. I'm impressed by the smooth icing - I can't ice, I have tried! Thanks for the good wishes and enjoy yours though it will be sad. You'd better start saving for a trip out. x

  4. I have never had sherry! Love the cards and your cake looks yummy. I haven't made one for a few years now and we bought one this year. The first one for a few years. I feel sad for you losing your family to Oz. My husband is from Melbourne and hasn't been back there for over 25 years. He just has his brother there now. Enjoy your Christmas with your family. Big hugs, Carol S.xxx

  7. Both super cards Carole and your cake is gorgeous. Never had sherry but I am partial to a glass or two of mulled wine.

Hope you have a really super christmas with Thomas and the rest of the family. Must admit I feel rather sad not being able to spend christmas with Asher and have a granny hug. Maybe you could go out there next christmas xx

  8. Oh, cool, I'm glad to see the pretty little cake, Carole! It is just exquisite and flawless and I'll bet it tasted delicious! And I see here the card I have on my own mantle, so thank you again! It's more adorable in person!! I'm sorry that your loves are heading off to Australia. It's understandable, but still very hard for you. I hope you spoiled Thomas to the max and took noodles of photos!! Wishing you all the best in the new year! (I know I'm very late stopping by, but if you happen to have a drop or two of sherry left ... .) Hugs, Darnell

  9. Hi Carole

I have to admit to quite a few glasses of sherry being consumed in the House of Hearts prior to Christmas and Boxing Day dinner. Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without my Sister and me having a little swig whilst preparing lunch .. .. and now my Daughter in Law joins in too!

Never drink it at any other time .. .. just those two days LOL!!

Perhaps you will be spending Christmas in sunny climes next year? I hope so. But in the meantime perhaps you will be able to do Skype or Facetime to watch that cute little chappie grow.

I hope you thoroughly enjoyed your Christmas and wish you well for 2017.

Love your card and scrummy Christmas cake.

    Love Jules xx
