'Friend'

Good afternoon friends! and a Happy 4th July to those of you in the USA....

July!,,,,,hmmmm........half way through the year............wonder what the next 6 months has in store for all of us! At least the sun is shining today and it is a little warmer here in west Yorkshire........let's hope it keeps it up!

Ok a card today for a friend............

The base card is Kraft covered with LOTV papers (Antebellum I think but sadly discontinued).

I cut the front of diagonally to make a pocket inside the card. I put a bought heart with a lovely sentiment on it in the pocket and wrote a hidden message behind (no not telling what it said). Happy Birthday die cut on the front is from Crafters Companion....I so love that font!

Inside the stamped greeting is from Woodware............and here is a picture of the bought heart and it's full greeting.

So it winged it's way to the recipient and she was happy I am pleased to say!

Thank you for taking time to pay me a visit........... yes the washing and ironing is all done from the holidays and the summer clothes are put away!! .............but the washing never really ends does it? or the ironing for that matter!..........the chores never go away and the lawn still grows!! Hubby and I always sort of say on holiday what we are going to do differently when we return..........bit like New Year resolutions.....call them holiday resolutions.............BUT.......they never last as we always seem to fall back in to the same ways...........do any of you do that?.................you know, the ones like ...make a meal plan, or go to bed half an hour earlier of get up half an hour earlier (that's me not hubby)....that sort of thing.
Well I have a card to make so have promised myself some crafty time.....after I have pegged out more washing.........sorry but have to make the most of the dry weather..........lol

Take care everyone, nice to chat, enjoy your week.
Crafty hugs

  3. Hi Carole, so glad to hear you had a super holiday and have managed to get all the washing done. I do love it when we can get the washing out on the line to dry and it smells so much fresher.

Love the fabulous design of this card, those papers are so pretty and that is a super heart xx

  4. I like the idea of Holiday Resolutions. Going away lets you view your life at a distance, doesn't it? So you see changes you'd like to make. I'd say keep the chores in perspective and do more of what you love. (But I do always have to have washing out if it's dry).
The papers you've used here are perfect, I always love the distressed look. You've put the card together beautifully.

  7. I was never very good at any kind of resolutions! Apart from allowing myself more time to craft - lol!
Your fancy fold design is fab and the pocket is a great idea. Those papers are really beautiful and your whole card is so pretty :-)

  8. Hi Carole

What a fabulous card for your friend .. .. no wonder she was happy with it .. .. it is brilliant.

Love that heart and the sweet sentiment!

I am always making resolutions .. .. and like you usually when you have taken a bit of a break away or broken the normal routine (and you feel like you have lots of time on your hands to put the never-ending list into action). But of course the normal routine kicks in and more often than not hardly anything on the lists sticks!

Your holiday view each morning was beautiful .. .. better than the rain and puddles that I seem to have been greeted with for the last week or so LOL!!!

    Love Jules xx

  9. Love the shape of this Carole it's a bit different, and the little heart tucked into the pocket is a nice idea.
I can't believe we're halfway through the year, it's scary. I'm always making resolutions but rarely stick to them, I think doing it on holiday is a great idea when you have chance to relax and think about things without all the day to day things going on around you!

  11. WOW...as in breath-taken-away, jaw-dropped-on-floor kind of WOW! Your card is gorgeous, Carole! The beautiful papers, the angled opening, the pocket, the heart-warming message! Of course your friend loved it; it's infused with love! Sighhhh...As for the 'let's change up routines' plans: yep! We're the same, for sure! Resolutions that sound fabulous (and productive) in theory, but in practice? HA! NOT! A couple of mine: to spending time working on the cross-stitch birth sampler I started for my nephew that, after four years, is STILL not done and to 'practice' my knitting (I'm pathetic...I can knit-and-purl, that's it, but I have a bunch of wool calling my name. Knitting was my obsession before card-making came along...and we know what happened there!) and so far: zippity-do-dah in both realms! All I do is make cards! Rather silly, actually! Maybe it's because I like the 'standing up' aspect of making cards, as that's how I craft. Hmmm...whatever the case, I *need* to change up my 'creativity, at least once in a while! Let me know if you figure out how to take the first steps on a new path *grin*
    Hugs~c
