In the Pink!

Good evening friends!...well it's evening here anyway and almost the end of another week! I am late this week...been too busy crafting to blog!...but I have been sneaking a peek at what you have all been up to...and some beautiful work is out there I have to say. I can't show all I have made yet ...but will do soon.

For the moment though I have a very pink card.!
I recently bought some bargains...and these pictured below were from Samuel Taylors Mega Sale.

The embossing folder and stamp are Sixxiz hero arts and come as a pair... the idea being that you stamp and then emboss. Well I have to say that I had a bit of trouble with that one...thank goodness for the recycling bin! I inked my card, aligned my folder and ran it through the Big Shot...(yes I gave it an airing instead of the Grand Calibur).............but the card cracked...... so I changed ink and it was a lot better. I am still not sure whether it is the ink that caused the problem, or the card, or both! If you have the answer please let me know.

Ta Daa

The other bargain is an older Paula Pascual set (also in the sale at ST)...pretty flowers with lines and dots that I stamped and coloured with copics and generally played with...then made my flower (bit of glamour dust here) and stamped my sentiment (LOTV).
So quick (or not so in my case) and easy and quite effective I think. Would be good perhaps in a darker colour for a male card minus the flower.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Thank You for stopping by to see me, and also thanks a lot if you leave me a comment. I love to hear from you and it is much appreciated.
Take care, stay safe and well, and I will be back next week.

Crafty hugs to all

  6. Well, isn't that an interesting combination: stamping then embossing. Definitely pretty, definitely eye-catching and definitely filled with possibilities! I can see where challenges would arise in figuring it out...lining up the inked stripes with the embossing lines...that alone would see me mess-making! Looks like you have it mastered! As for your card stock cracking: the same thing happens to me, too, which is why I don't use embossed backgrounds often even though I think they add such a special touch. I know my paper is heavy enough...hmmmm...maybe that's the issue. Heavy paper. Need to ponder that. Anyway, your card is a stunning number: pretty in pink! And the flower: a most charming, sweet accessory! Using different colours for a guy/kids card: yep! Flower replaced with a star,, or a critter, or...endless choices! All around, great shopping with marvelous results! Just so you know: your comments make me feel so incredibly special! More big squeeze-hugs headed your way!

  10. Very pretty card Carole. Love the idea of EF's and stamps.

I read somewhere that taping a piece of vellum inside your EF will help stop paper cracking . . .no idea why, but it seems to work on the one folder I've tried it on. Some EF's have such DEEP designs.
