95 years young!

Well Hello everyone!  I haven't forgotten you all...I have been busy nosing at all your wonderful creations that I haven't had time to blog...lol......so it's all your fault really you see! Welcome to my new followers too, I hope you will pop by regularly and say hi.......I love it when people connect.

So here we are starting the second week in June...it's summer here in the UK..........and the last few days have been better in the sunshine stakes, but terrible for the wind....! ( naughty, not that sort) It's battering all the little plants and the tall ones too and makes it still a bit on the chilly side.

Bolton last weekend (last one in May) was a good show and saw me part with some pennies so to speak....I did get some £1 bargains and some necessary bits (boring things like glue) and when I got home and looked I seemed to have very little in my bag considering what I spent! More added to the NBUS for the moment :)
The problem is you put it all in one bag to be green these days..... and instantly have less bags...so looks like less stuff, and lets face it a big box would look impressive, but not really apt for a small bottle of glue. Finished the day off meeting friends for a meal and a good catch up. Trust me there were people there with suitcases...suitcases!!!!!  I mean think how many pennies they parted with...or perhaps it was full of a big box with a small bottle of glue!  tee hee

Right before you get bored and move on ...a card...for my mum who celebrated 95 years yesterday! Yes she had me late in life being as I am only 21!  hmmmmm........... Now thinking about it if I live till 95 my eldest will be 70!(work that one out).... yikes don't tell him he'll freak out! Anyway here is her card....

It uses the new Indigo Blu stamp..called Blue peeking which I stamped and embossed in wow superfine black powder.......what a gorgeous face this cat has. We had a black cat called Sooty when I was a child so it reminded mum of that. The background was inked with distress inks...tumbled glass, milled lavender and  spun sugar and then die cut using Sue Wilson Noble Rectangles. Sentiment is computer generated and the rest from stash. Plenty of glamour dust in use though not obvious on the photos...sorry. Oh and the base card is adorable scorable embossed form Hunkydory. Quite pleased with the outcome and a change from a CAS card.
Mum had a steady stream of visitors bringing flowers and chocolates etc and we had a chinese takeaway to round off the day...lovely.

Well I have taken up enough of your precious blogging time so will let you go with the usual 'Thank You' for stopping by......and I would love it if you let me know you have been.
Take care, keep safe and well, and enjoy your week.
See you next time.
Hugs Carole xx

PS. I will enter this in some challenges if I get through the Everest of ironing in the basket...and the washer is making more as I speak! Sunshine makes me wash!!  lol........away to it Carole!

PPS.(Several hours later)..... Everest conquered!

  1. I enjoyed your blog post so much! Our weather here in Minnesota sounds a lot like yours. In thirty days we have had 20 days of cloudy, rainy weather and the other 10 were very windy. Good days to be indoors making cards.

I just love the card that you made for your mom. The stamp is so pretty and you did such a great job of coloring that beautiful soft looking background. I really like the stitched rectangles and the pretty pink flowers are perfect.
I bet your mom loved the card.

    Good luck with your ironing.

  3. This is gorgeous, sounds like your Mum had a perfect day. You and I may have been separated at birth cos my Mum had me when she was in her seventies too!

Yes, that's a stolen wooden flower, didn't think you'd notice. Anyways I am reliably informed by the tech dept that we have an inkjet printer. Apparently it wasn't too pricey - a run of the mill Canon. Not had any problems. Maybe give a quick blast of the heat gun before colouring?

    Cheers, Liz xx

  12. Hello, wonderful Carole! First, belated Happy Birthday to your Mum; 95 is such an incredible milestone, and to have opportunity to celebrate this with her...touching and heart-warming! What a blessing! Your card is GORGEOUS! Blue peeking from the vines is a pretty image, but it's your showcase that creates the most marvelous impact. The black and pink pairing...crushing over that combination. The embossing and framing...smitten with how these add elegance. And the flowers and, especially, the butterfly...the perfect special touches. That Blue was reminiscent of Sooty from your childhood is truly sweet! Sighhh...so much beauty. I know your mom loves this, as do I! I'm glad her day was filled with celebration! Your shopping venture sounds like fun and yes, it's amazing how much $$ one can spend without realizing. We're planning a trip to Seattle, Washington in July, and I know I'll be heading directly to a craft store that I've heard fabulous things about: Impress. Mr. Visa is already vibrating at the prospect! Your weather sounds like ours: here, at my mom's, it's cool, windy and overcast. Off to watch my nephew play ball-hockey, then a bit of shopping, then more niece and nephew time! Hope your weekend is absolutely marvelous, my dear friend! Love and hugs heading your way!
