Quick and easy.....

But not my usual style. I decided to go a little bit out of my comfort zone on this one and use some bold colours and a large sentiment.

First I covered the card blank with stripy paper from my stash and then cut a piece of red bazzill card  edged it with a Martha Stewart punch and placed it over the bottom of the patterned piece.
The sentiment is a Stampendous stamp. It comes in a pack of two with a lovely flourish. I stamped and embossed with black embossing powder and then inked round the edges to soften a little and mounted on to black card.Chose to go jaunty and finally added some candi to finish. Job done!

and this years!

Just in case you thought I hadn't done one! here is this years Valentine for hubby. Totally different in style. Which do you prefer?

I covered the front of a 6inch square card with the stripy paper from my stash and then added a strip of cream spotty paper (bo bunny but can't remember the name). The heart was cut 3 times with a Spellbinders Nestability and the right side of one heart glued to the left of another to make the 3Dheart. I then covered it in platinum stickles and smudged it out with my finger (best tool going the finger). I did try to spray with my cosmic shimmer but it glooped out of the bottle so no go on that one. Anyone else have that problem? The sentiment was a rub on from my stash.Quick and easy if you don't have a stamp.

The inside was a try at a technique I saw in a recent making cards magazine done by Emma take a peek at her blog. (I love her work) so I can't take the credit for it and if I had had more time I would have perfected it, but of course I was last minute as usual.

It is a chain of hearts (like the chains of dolls one cut as a child.....remember? well perhaps not!)
I didn't have any letters that would do for the wording so I had to improvise a bit on that one and stamp and emboss with white powder.

Enjoy the spring like weather! sunny here but a bit chilly.

Valentine

Thought I would just share last years Valentine card for hubby with you.. Very less is more and I really liked it for a change.I always admire the minimilistic approach but somehow I am always a bit scared of going there as there is so much white!

.

I die cut a square in an 8 x8 card and stamped round the left edge with a flourish, then inside the card I sponged through a stencil (made from the same square die) with red ink and then stamped the LOVE heart from Magnolia over the top so that when the card was closed it showed through the aperture. No insert either so quick to do.

Die cut two small hearts from red glitter card and addded the rub on sentiment on it's side top left.

Now I have to come up with something different for this year! and quickly!

Hope you like, and thanks for stopping by.
